oooh ooooh, are we gonna go? waiouru army camp ride is cancelled so we need to replace it with something epic
I wish... I worked around the area back in 1999-2000 maintaining forestry radio links ... Think Karipoti x 10, the hills here wouldn't be a pimple compared to whats over that way...

The Tarndale slip has to be seen to be believed...

Unfortuately, can't stray too far from home due to cashflow and mum needing a hand with the young fullah...

Want to get over to gizzy soon though, got an rmz250 to pick up.

this weekend its my mission to take shitloads of photos on this ride.

maybe next time all you slack aucklanders could convoy down.

theres no reason why you cant drive back up to auckland afterwards on the sunday, i did it several times last year. and i drive a diesel automatic hiace with no turbo and a maximum speed of about 120k (downhill with a tail wind) lol

ok, like i said i would, i went and took photos. keep in mind that as i was riding it was difficult to get plenty of good photos. and evidently taking photos while riding makes for blurry photos. and theres also some video, the stuff while moving was taken with me attempting to ride with 1 hand, so yes, my riding is terrible- but you try riding 1 handed while videoing!

i also managed to get my hands on some of the footage from one of the locals, who also had photos of the last ride out there.

turnout yesterday was fairly small, with the track being the best ever.
at the top lookout which felt like just past half way around we had done 40km, (i looked at another guy's crf-x's trip meter), didnt check back at base how far the loop was but id suggest somewhere around 65-70km. can just get a loop on a tank on my cr250.

it hadnt really rained for a few days so the rivers were really low yesterday, making for an easy day for those on suzukis - which dont seem to like this river.

the rest of the tracks were also mostly fairly dry with the odd bit that doesnt see much sun still being nice and soft. anyway, see for yourself from the photos and videos by clicking on the link below. ive also added a sample photo below for those too lazy to click the link and have a look thru.

note there is 2 days worth, day 1 was 4wd's, which went on a tiny amount of the trail loop and spent the whole day getting stuck. fucken heaps of shit.
    day 2 was bikes.
