Thanks mate
Thanks mate
If you are behind me
Dont ask as I am lost too.
ummm I never said they or it or whatever is crap, I have however pointed out that if you pay cheap the general rule of thumb is you get cheap, thats a rule you can pply to fairly much anything Im afraid.
It is irrelevant where I get my products made, what is relevant is how much time and effort I/we spend in getting the products right.
I have a new Technic one piece and gloves sitting on my kitchen table (which I collected from Whites for a mate racing with me this weekend) they are made in Veitnam, I know Alpinestar get alot of prodcut made in Bosnia, I know of many brands made in weird arse countries, which is fine, its down to how much effort that goes into the development.
We invest shitloads of money and time into this area, not only in travel costs but in many other areas to I can assure you
Im glad you are happy with your gear, everyone should be, absolutely.
The only thing I dislike about the market is the general B.S that is rife within it, particulary within the budget end and some TM sellers.
For example, there is a TM seller claiming actual retail for a race suit is $1995 yet sells them buy now for $395,( they arent sold in retail outlets anywhere btw) its labelled as a "professional racer suit" FFS it looks like a flimsey rag and is constructed poorly, minimal stitching (double only) with what looks like cotton (not to mention no one races in them)
Another example is the grade of leather used, I was approached by a guy at Taupo recently who wanted to show me his Jacket he got from TM, it cost him $240, the Jacket was very very thin, I had a suspicion it wasnt actually leather at all, but reconstituted leather, it was garbage yet sold as a racers jacket. I didnt say anything to him (he liked it) but mate if and when he crashes this thing will fall apart instantly.
I know for an absolute fact claims are made which are completely false, and as I say regualry you buy cheap you get cheap, real quality components actually do cost actual money which goes into cost, Im not trying to be a smart arse here mate (seriously) but I have been in this business for about 9 years (5 with QUASiMOTO and 4 as marketing manager for nationwide) I like to think I know my shit (as it where)
The only message from me is be careful what you buy youre person may actually have to rely on it at some stage, and be cautious with the claims made against the items.
If you find a bargin, great we all love them, but take care first.
So mate no red rep from me.
Im done I think ?
Ive run out of fucks to give
I might import some thailand Carpet layers and bring them to Warkworth and promote 1 mm thick lino layed for $20 ? what would you say then Mr Maha ? will you give them a fair go ? or would you have some fact based comments to mention on www.Layersareus.co.nz
this is my lively hood and Im reacting to it well I feel.
Ive run out of fucks to give
Just because I had to look it up...
Bonded leather, or reconstituted leather, is an artificial material composed of 80% to 100% leather fibers (often waste scraps from leather tanneries or leather workshops). It consists of collagen fibers obtained from macerated hide pieces bonded together with latex binders constructed into a fibrous mat to create a look and feel similar or sometimes identical to that of genuine leather but at a fraction of the cost. Depending on the quality a man-made pattern is usually discernible as a "grain-like" look.
Examples of products that are most commonly constructed with bonded leather are: bibles, diaries, art books, desk accessories, hymnals, bags, belts, chairs, and sofas.
There are manufacturers who call their chemical treated leather, bonded leather.
What I said is a good thing. (granted, doesn't come across like that)
You stand by your product and thats to be commended. Believing in and promoting your goods/services is paramount in any successful business. You have a successful business and a good product. So do alot of others.
Thanks mate for your answer. Yes you are right that some of the kit on trade me is crap.... but not all. thats what we have to respect.
i know your gear is good..... i haveover your leather trou. I made a promise to myself that Mrs portokiwi will be getting me some for Christmas lol.
If you are behind me
Dont ask as I am lost too.
That does sound a bit cheap to me... I paid $300-$400 for me jacket and abot the same for my troubut the are brand I have herd of before
Mate over there if you want a snow lepoard jacket they will even leave the head on to show its real. Due to regulations and principle I did not buy any endangered leathers. They make blankets, rugs, you name it. they will do it if you offer them a good price.
You can check them making it as well.
i found the carpets the hardest to tell if real wool and silk was used. or accrlic
amazing watching them making them though.![]()

(Sorry my post sounded angry to)
Yup there are alot of good business around for sure and Im lucky that my brand reputation on KB is intact even after 73 crashes (I count them ya see)
but its fair to say (hopefully this sounds right) because KB is such a huge community I simply cannot afford to bring in crap, if I did and it failed goodbye Quasimoto, so my rep is very very important. I like to think though I give back to the community as well (competitions donations sponsorship give aways help etc) but in saying that KB members deserve support from the businesses active within it.
Ive run out of fucks to give
You do very very well, hell even I know that.
I haven't heard/read any bad thing about your gear (the odd stitch here and there) anyone who owns Quasi gear seems very happy with the product.
Your gear looks smart, and that counts (well to me it does) and those that have seen me in my riding gear will now be saying... Bullshit!!...![]()
