    Sports/Tourer

Thinking of flicking the current bike, Splitting the money into a cheap jap bike and using the rest as a deposit on a house bus.

Due to the fact I know pretty much nothing about bikes from Asia I was hoping for some recommendations as to what models to look for.

    The criteria is as follows

    No older then mid 90's
    Around 7 grand (or less)
Be able to pull a fat bastard(125KG) and wife on occasion ( a mere 52KG)
No less then 900cc, The bigger the better, Not into screamers or lying on my belly.

The two bikes I have my eye on are the ZZR 1100

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-181432377.htm

    and the RF900

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-179080198.htm

Any thoughts on these two?, would they suit?, anything else that might fit the bill?

both of them will suit you perfectly.

say good bye to your licence tho
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

mate, ride them both. I was looking at the same two bikes. If you find yourself this way, you can try mine. Frosty also has a beauty on the yard. Red one with a nice sounding yoshi can too.

Either of those or possibly a SV1000 would sort you out fine, as already suggested the best thing to do is test ride.

Yeah, thanks, If thats the best you can do you would probably enhance the conversation by just staying quiet aye?

Something to think about perhaps? Or next time try some wit, I hear that works well if you want to say something but have zero insight to offer. Do you have any wit to offer by any chance?...no?...witless? Bugger.

Not looking to test ride, Just see what's out there that fits the criteria, But thanks for the opportunity to explain all that.

    kthxbye.

Cheers for the recommendations,Speed Triple and SV1000 added to the list.

Just to clarify, I'm not looking at the specific bikes in the trademe links, just those types of bikes.

I'd have to sell my current bike before I went to the trouble of talking turkey and taking test rides, I don't bother people or shops until I'm ready to do a deal.

Might get hold of Frosty to see what he has in stock just the same.

    don't be such a plonker...

you ain't going to know if you lying on you belly or not till you take it for ride are you...

you not going to know if it screams (for your riding style) are you till you take it for a test ride

You not going to know if you find it comfortable till you take it for a test ride are you

its the normal story... take them for a test ride...

You are not going to know if it is going to happily carry you and your wife (though both should) till you take it for test ride...

there are heaps of other bikes that would suite your needs just about any other bike that is over 900cc but till you take them for a test ride you aint going to know the above... comfort on a tour is everything...

so I will say it again

I love them both, ive got a Kwaka & had an RF900, you can't make a bad decision here

Although I would take the RF all day long if it was that burgundy 97 model with feck all km's on it for 2/5's of bugger all on TM at present. THE most under rated bike of all time, known to get 300,000+ out of an engine.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

I recently did the same thing HB, sold my Harley to release funds for the house and ended up going the japan route.

I bought a Gsx1400, nice and upright, plenty of grunt and real comfy two up, it'll cruise harley esque or give an inter continental ballistic missile the learn, if your so inclined.

Cant really go wrong with the ZZR, good riding position, more surge than anyone really needs and bizarrely, economical? dunno why but mine was very good on gas.

Don't know much of the RF900s but I've heard plenty of good tales about them.

The only others I can think of to throw in the mix would be a late fj1200 and an early cb1300. I know two of my suggestions are naked but IMO that's what they are, Naked sports tourers.

Good luck mate, let us know which way ya go.
    Oh bugger
