well in 06 that means compring the old zx14 vs the old busa,
the zx14 should have smoked the busa in 06, it was new and the busa been around for 8 years.
I go ta supermag review of the new busa vs others i have a look when i get home

I rode the ZX14 as a test ride when it first came out and put up a write up on this site. Only bike I've ever felt like changing to from my GSX1400. Loved it.
Rode Rona's ZX14 which was worked a bit and very nearly took out an extra mortgage to buy that when he sold it. Awesome machines, finesse, smooth solid braking, heaps of grunt. Nothing like the feeling of a front wheel loft at 200kmh![]()
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

To put those figures into context. Say you had a spare 60 seconds. Nail it from a standing start, hold the throttle open after the 1/4 and you would need about 6km of road. And then you have think about slowing down.
I think the number of suitable empty, unpatrolled, straight roads is ever decreasing and to buy a bike solely on top speed is daft given the condition of our roads. That said both the Bus and the ZX happen to be a lot of bike for 20K and if you get the high performance thrown in its a bonus.
I've ridden a '03 Busa and it did'nt impress me that much, grunty motor but was'nt very smooth, pretty crap brakes and did'nt really like the way it cornered either. Admittedly the bike was 4 years old but it was low milage (15,000km).
I've ridden two ZX14's now and I came away from both rides impressed about the brakes, the handling (for a big machine), insane speed and smoooothness of the motor! Can't comment on the latest Busa, have'nt ridden one but it'd have to be one hell of a machine to convince me to buy one over ZX14.
Nail in the coffin is the better looking bike by a country mile IMHO.
