No idea what my speeds translate as in Kph, sorry.
We have a points system like the UK does, except we have 100 point limit. 40kmh over the limit and you get 50 points. But if you do 50kmh over the limit then you get a intant 28 day suspension and your vehicle impounded for 28 days aswell

If you come on KB rides, we go out in the whop whops.... Very litte chance of cops.... But main highways are crawling with Highway Patrol...

We have a 100kmh limit on open roads (60mph) and if you do over 110kmh you will probably get a ticket... But on the back roads, i dont generally have a speed limit.... Unless we hit a township, then its back to 50kmh (30mph)...

I lost my licence last year, exceeding the speed limit....

57kmh over.... Got done for driving in a manner which could be dangerous...

$450 fine and $120 court costs..... Just ticked it up

It was really early in the morning, no other cars on the road, but a coppa hiding up a driveway...

I'm very proud to say that for the first year in recent memory (except for one when I was disq all year and so deliberately kept to the speed limit or so far above that it didn't matter) I had a big fat ZERO in tickets last year.

Now that I've gloated, I look forward to that man Murphy imposing his Law on me on the way home time tonight...

Dude - check out my previous post in this thread. These wide open roads with relatively little traffic simply beg to be ridden fast. But the pathetic, slow speed restrictions here IS going to catch you out. You've been warned ,and the bloody police are everywhere!!! Although I like them at the moment due to recent (and posted) events.

Let me guess - The only reason you don't speed is because your father is Elvis, your mother is Marilyn Monroe and you're an astronaut at weekends.

Nope, it was a collection of them all relating to the same idiot who was driving a clapped out heap of junk I had pink stickered the day before.

Drove without appropriate licence = $400
Drove pink stickered vehicle = $600
    Removed pink sticker = $600
    Expired Rego = $200
    Expired WOF = $200
Drove an unsafe motor vehicle = $600

Opps, thats $2600, I sold myself short before.

I had written the car off the road the previous day because it was just a death trap, he was warned about his licence breach and the WOF & Rego and ordered not to drive the car. The next day I find him out driving the same shit heap again so he gets every ticket I could throw at him. He wasn't speeding though, the car could barely do 50kph.

Phew - I'm glad you had a good reason for screwing him, and that you hadn't just had one of those cops "bad hair days"!!!!

Of course, it'll just sit unpaid on the MoJ's books for a few years and get written off eventually in some MP's crusade to make the outstanding fines statistics look good before an election. Or something.

I've always loved the masochistic possibilities inherent in a class 6 learner licence... with carefully managed breaches of the restrictions, you can get pulled over once, get 125 points for instant licence loss *and* be fined $2000 without doing ANYTHING that would be illegal if you had a full licence.

    - Not displaying L-plate: $400, 25 points
    - Riding a motorcycle with an engine above 250cc: $400, 25 points
    - Carrying a pillion passenger: $400, 25 points
    - Exceeding 70kph on the open road or motorway: $400, 25 points
    - Riding between the hours of 10pm and 5am: $400, 25 points

All do-able in one quick licence-shredding trip... I seriously doubt any copper in his right mind would hit the average Joe Bloggs with *all* of the above in those circumstances, though.

You'd have to be a real WINJA to cop all that in one go. They are pretty over the top those licence breach fines - nasty.

and the year before and the year before and the year before and $450 the year before - 70 in a 50 zone, testing the VT after re-buliding it so no warrant or reg either.
