4wd taps me from behind

Just our riding in this glorious wellington weather, and this woman in a Pajero, decides to 'nudge' me at the lights turning right, then beep her horn. I saw her approaching slowly, so it wasn't a "didn't see you" mistake. Normally if people do a tail ender, the last thing they'll do is honk the horn.

Luckily only my number plate was scratched and bent.

As part of my belief in naming and shaming - it was a Pajero with license plate CKG64 (with a painting advert and cellphone number on the spare wheel cover - I know as I let her go past to have a good look).

Be careful out there. Some people just have no respect for life and safety.

I would have liked to, but old enough to know if you don't have the expertise, then you might likely come worse off.

Thought about just reporting it to the police, but they probbaly have hundreds per day and nothing is done. I might use the Police web site though. Probably goes into the trash straight away, but the vent or feeling of reporting someone makes you feel better.

I try to be courteous to give us bikers a good name... maybe she was having a bad day. As they say, 90% of how a person treats you comes from what has happened before. You might have just been the straw that broke that camels back.

Anyway... off to do some more riding!

If she actually hit you (nudged whatever) then left without assessing the damage to your vehicle or you wouldn't this be a hit and run?

I would say definitely report it. If there was no contact that would be another story but if she actually hit you, she was aware of it and left without stopping there is just no excuse.

Report through the police website, they do follow up on all complaints, either they contact the person or they contact you saying the rego was wrong

Also, you can call *555 and report it there, if she gets caught doing something else stupid they will contact you and add it to her charges.

Where abouts were they? Just curious if they are local to Johnsonville....

Just on the idea of reporting things....

On my way to work lately the city roads have been damp. And every day a trail of oil can be seen for Kms along the road.
Some vehicle is obviously leaking a lot of oil, yet continues to be used every day.

If I tracked said vehicle to it's source and gave that info to police, would they do anything about it?

Unlikely but then if you went to take the time to do this you could perhaps advise the owner, unless of course the said vehicle looks to be unwarranted or registered perhaps a call tall to the police might be in order, how much effort do you want to put in.
