    Honda CBF250 christened!

Did my Roadsafe course in Petone, Wellington on Friday (great day - weather was fantastic - recommend the learners course for anyone never been on a bike before, which was me - Andrew was very good) and my scratchy yesterday. Wasn't sure what bike to get - had a look at the Scorpio and GN250 but ended up going for the Honda CBF250 - 5K new. Couldn't get one in Welly so nearest place was ANZA Motorcycles in Palmy - went up there this morning and picked it up. Ivan and his crew sorted me out with all the gear and nervously waved me off for my 122Km first ever motorcycle roadtrip back to Porirua. To say I was sh$%^ng myself was an understatement but once out on the back road to Levin really started to get to enjoy the bike. Stopped off a couple of times, took it easy and finally got back home 2 hours later. Little bit scary at times but its amazing how the confidence starts to grow after a pretty short time.

Looking forward to getting to know the bike over the next few weeks.

Congrats, Even tho confidence will probabaly grow very quickly after another couple of rides, please keep in mind that you still need to go over some basics.
Find a car park and start practicing things such as Hard braking and things like that.

    Good one

    Take it easy

    Hi Sledge
I have the same bike and am really enjoying it. Got my bike 6 weeks ago and have clocked up 800 km. I totally understand the feeling you had of @#*+** yourself on your first big ride. I was the same on my first big adventure, but now feel more confident. Enjoy the bike I am happy with mine but am already dreaming of something bigger.

    Keep safe Vega

    Sleege,

Firstly, congrats. Glad you have a bike and glad you made it back home safe and sound.

Being less than one year in myself, I will tell you honestly that I couldn't have done that as a first ride. I even had my first bike delivered from Lower Hutt to Waikanae to avoid it !

I then spent the next two months, at weekends, pottering (and it really was pottering - it must have looked aweful !) at first round the back streets, avoiding any form of traffic, whilst I got used to the thing.

You'll be pleased to know that, after that lot, I now commute daily to Welly and love every minute of it.

Wishing you the safest riding and the most fun !

    Enjoy,
    Rob

well done i had to get mine delivered, i was too scared of all the big SUVs around.

Nice little bike, i love mine to pieces. Just be careful those brake and clutch leavers are bendy.. well if the bike ends up on its side they are...
stupid friend owes me a leaver now >_>

Ride safe, keep it shiny side up
