    Handed bike in

I got the damage priced up and it could easiliy cost over a grand.

So I've handed it over for insurance assessment.

Once they add repairing costs in it could be over it insured amount (1500 I think...)

I may never see my bike again....

Don't know whether I'd rather get the bike fixed or get a payout, I still need to get my restricted and full licences before I can get a 400.

    bugger it.

Its mostly fairing damage/rear lights/exhaust cover/rear end but parts are bloody expensive.

you have first option to buy it off the insurance company, so if it is written off buy it back for $100 and you will have a bucket racer _b

Does it really work like that?
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.

Tell me about it. The quote on mine was rediculous. When it is an insurance quote, the price goes through the roof.
Texmo's idea might be a good option if that is the case.

just get the rear light and fix the other stuff over time, heck even give it a nice new paint job when you get all the fairings sorted.

If anything metal on it is broken, find a KB'er in hamilton that can get it welded for ya. I got superdaves rearset welded, looks rangi but thats coz he hasnt bothered to tidy it up

With my ZXR i never worried about dropping it, it was like 'oh well, another scractch to sand out when i paint it up' i never dropped it in the end, but its nice to know you dont have to worry so much about it - just get painted when you want to sell it anyway.

Yes it does, they give you first option to buy it back at auction if it goes to say $350, they come back to you told you how much it got to and if you want to buy it back, but you have to tell them in advance that you wanna buy it back. Same if it goes to tender. But really who wants to buy a written off fxr150 so It should cost you fuck all really.

I DO!! I'll even let you keep all the bits I don't want, so you'll have some spares for your next one.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

no who wants a an fxr150 for less than $500 with a couple of scratches and tape with a perfectly good engine, clutch, gear box, brakes, carbs, electrics, lights, display, starter motor, suspension, etc that can be riden legally for a couple of years.

Don't need to worry about insurance or dropping it either cause you can't devalue it.

But yeah I will definitely keep it if I can.

Heh, the previous owner has seen it and was quite sad to have seen it in the state it was in. Its hard not to grow attached to the pretty thing.
