Ye I got the AWD'S there not totally unstoppable but I've yet to see anything I cant grunt and push my way up although plans are a foot to do the waipaheke and loop track in reverse first riding up the river 5km if at all possible join the waipaheke off one of the crossings then up the gut buster and round the loop in reverse.

I’ll need to find a few to take this on CRF119 and Cave Weta should be keen.

Anyone got pics of the staircase?

Yup, thats the start of the staircase .... see how that blokes standing next to his machine ?? yup.

Thats the bottom of it, a fair bit more of the same just past it. The rock garden climb is just opposite the staircase on the other side of the river. The picture doesn't really do it justice.. bring a camera through (mines KIA) and ill get some nice pics of the christini hammering her way up there...

Quite possibly you'd get up that far on momentum alone with the 650' ... maybe he saw what was up ahead and needed a reasessment of the situ ..

Man that christini is awesome. Ride halfway up difficult hillclimbs... stop.... assess situation.... carry on up! not possible on most bikes with most riders aboard. Unfortunately no one except daffyd was keen to go back up the staircase after we went down but he went up the bottom part of it while we watched and he made it look easy. we didn't even do the link track 'cos of the rain and puddle worries (with my bikes history of spitting the dummy) the rivers were high and the clay was slick so it was still a decent hoon but i did feel stink for not giving dafydd a tough challenge. Next time mate, come back soon. Again we got no photos... sorry. If you get a chance to go for a hoon with Daffyd and his hill munching weapon, don't pass it up. Top bloke and an awesome machine.

yeah, was real slick aye, and heaps of shit falling onto the tracks lately (trees, rocks, me!) gotta watch yourself. we had a good hoon but didn't go anywhere new for me. over to the Hutt through the clay around the back of Hydro rd and through the pine forest then down the staircase, up the rock garden and home really (did a few little extra curricular bits but no majors). lookin forward to Totara park event this weekend. You going Quallman?
