    Larger fuel tank for DRZ250

Hello all. I am new here and signed up because of a thread I found referencing someone mounting a 20L tank intended for an XR400 on to the DRZ250. Can anyone provide details or (miraculously, possibly) photos of adapter brackets they made? I have found several references to the XR tanks being able to fit on the DRZ, but I would like more details before I spend the money for an experiment that may not work out.

    Thanks

Hey. Dont know about the 250cc but I got a 27L Safari tank from Aussie for my 400E and it was easy to install or remove provided it was not full of fuel.

This just reminded me. There was an article in the two wheel mag or TBAM about putting the 32L DR650 tank on a DRZ250. Should be good for about oooh lets see 600ish kms (I'm guessing). Had to get bits of alloy that bolted to the stock forward mounts and then bolt the stock forward mounts to the alloy so they were further forward than the stock mounts. If this can be done them maybe the IMS 18L DR650 tank can be made to fit in a similar fashion.

Also what about looking for a wrecked DR250 Djebel with their steel 17/18l tank?

    Cheers R
