Bike companies that are brilliant!

Had a look around searching for a sticky thread that had the "good guys" listed. But could not find any. (Perhaps my bad????)

Anyhow, I would like to start this (if not already done somewhere) by mentioning Econo Honda.

They sent my bits as soon as I showed that my payment was done. (That was a day before it showed up in their account)
Their price was 2/3 of the local shop.
They had knowledge and information that helped me find the right part.

AAA+++ for them.

I've always had exceptional service from AMPS in Kyhber Pass Road, Auckland (specifically Patrick Stafford one of the sales guys) . Purchased my second bike from them this week.

When I had a warranty claim on my 950, the smart arsed little shit who answers the phone in the Service Dept did nothing to endear me to AMPs.
KTM and the actual Mechanic (a pommy guy called John I think), were brilliant, though.

I don't think any shop I've dealt with has been consistently good, although most of them have had their good moments.
I usually do most of my business through Motohaus, as Kerry is generally pretty straight up and doesn't bullshit me. When I recentlyish needed a new battery, and there was a bit of a mixup, Kerry had it delivered right to my door at no cost.
Lou in the accessories department at AMPS is always very good. As for buying bikes, none of the shops I've dealt with have been good. I would like to buy a bike from Holeshot though, as even though I've never bought a bike from them, their service when looking at / testing bikes has been excellent. It's just a shame that they didn't have the bike I wanted.

Firstly I have to say Quasi is possibly the best online retailer I have come across. Unfortunately I have not found anything other than gloves he has I can wear but I have huge respect for all he does to try and help out fellow motorcyclists. In any dealings I have with people who are looking for gear he is always my first recommendation.

As for local dealers I have to say McIver and Veitch here in Dunedin. They may not be the cheapest round but their ability to follow is very refreshing.

TSS is the only company that regularly do courtesy calls to me asking how things are, if I'm in need of any parts, tyres, bikes, anything.

Both hubby and I have been purchasing from him in the past 6 years and have never had a complaint to make.

For bits and pieces, Cycletreads has rarely been found to be unsatisfactory.

Do a search and you might find my positive post for Econohonda from several years back.I had an XLV750,and no dealer even knew what it was - no problem for Malcolm,he had owned one,had the parts fish,had the parts,had the ultimate customer service.I'd ring him in the afternoon,and the parts would be at my door 8.00am next morning.I still have a couple of old Honda's,but seldom need parts for them.

+1 for EconoHonda from me too. Malcolm was awesome when I needed bits for my CX500. I even was able to go to his house to collect parts and when I got a wrong bit was gracious in swapping it.

R Jays expandable bags are not the best quality as they come apart at the seams but Motomail has replaced mine no questions.

I don't go into shops much because I do most things myself but generally don't have any problems with them.

Sawyers used to look after me especially back when Sully60 was on the counter, but since the move to join Motorad and now they don't sell Hondas or Yamahas I hardly ever go there.

TSS has Richard and he always looks after me.

Malcolm at EconoHonda is tops and I have bought quite a few things from him relative to how much I do buy which isn't much.

SparkyBills at Motomart is fine by me too. Just got a new front tyre sorted out by him this week - always service with a smile. Last time Mrs took my wheel in and he carried it out to the car for her (top bloke), but this time because I did it, I had to carry it back out myself - chivalry is alive huh!

Motomail have treated me fine in the past too but it is now a few years since I've ordered anything from them.

I go into Wellington Motorcycles occasionally, CFWB says hi, the parts guys I find kind of serious looking and economical with their words and they don't seem so good at dealing with stuff not in their "book".
