I have a good idea ! Lets all (those in his group) chip in to pay the man half his entry fee back and see if we can get him banned till lunch break (at which time we can all watch (insert grin emote here) him take a fall or two !)
I got a tenner says he aint got the balls to do it !
Think it might be safe to ride with the man after lunch ! but then who knows aye!
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

There is a good deal to be said for falling off in a controlled(ish) environment, even for the most cautious and prudent rider. Limits need to be explored if they are to be recognised as limts. Once discovered, one knows what to stay well within.

I personally prefer to do my falling off exploration on sand or mud, they are softer than tarmac, but the principle remains the same. If the circumsatnces be as stated, they seem pernicious and ill advised.

MotoTT is a private company which has no responsibility to allow any particular person to participate in their trackdays. If they decide that you're not welcome, then, tough - you shouldn't have given them good reason to feel that way.

Publicly stating that one intends to go out at a trackday and crash is idiotic.

We're not talking about mucking around on dirtbikes, here. We're talking about 200kg+ road bikes at 200+ kph. Riders can and do die on racetracks, y'know, and often because more than one bike gets involved in a crash.

It's difficult, particularly for new riders like dpex, to maintain full situational awareness when riding at pace on the racetrack. The only way they can not be a danger to others is to ride predictably, smoothly and progressively.

dpex, the only appropriate attitude for a trackday is 'safety first and consideration for others'. Your blatant disregard for that was a serious mistake to make.

I, for one, am happy to know that I won't be having to share the track with you next Friday. Hopefully you'll make good use of your enforced cooldown period, now, and bring a wiser approach to trackdays in future.

    Face value mate.
Unfortunately there is no subtlety in this means of communication. No wry grin or twinkle in the eye transmits without at least 'some' graphical embellishment.

I just want to know when me and my bike reach the event horizons. And the only place I can safely do that is at a track. But now, because I have stated my wish, I'm banned.
I used to wonder what it'd be like to crash on the track too. I always wanted to know my limits and thought the only way to find out is to push it too hard, and crash. Then I got knocked off by a complete idiot during practice. It HURT! My kids had to bathe me. My shoulder STILL HURTS 18 months later! It was EXPENSIVE! My bike is still not back together. That was at a race meeting. Track days are NOT race days! Track days are for people to learn to ride, NOT crash, in a safe environment.

If you are seen pushing it too much and putting yourself and others at risk, you will be called into the pits and spoken to about your safety and the safety of other track users. Hopefully before you crash or hurt anyone else. In other words, told to pull your head in!

If you want to experience falling off, get yourself a dirt bike, decent armor, boots and back protector. All the same principles apply.

I reckon dpex's original post was more a case of his lack of confidence doing the talking, thinking he was destined to bail, so rather than looking like a chump he'll say "that's what I wanted to achieve".

I haven't done a trackday either yet man, but when I do it is for me to explore and get a better feel of my bike. Falling off is the LAST thing I want to do- been there done that and it sucks.

    Too right.

Hopefully dpex will realise that, swallow his pride, and learn from his mistakes, eh?
