Found out while over at the coast, that the Kumara petrol station is closed for good.

So for those of you with smaller tanks and short range between full ups, plan your trips with that in mind.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Even the thrifty 675 would be pushing it..ha, I typed that before I realise the pun.

    The weather was perfect!
We left saturday morning just after 10am, drizzling in ChCh. Got to Springfield for a gas top up and the sun was out.
Perfect through the pass, beaut ride!!
Got to Jacksons, started to cloud up, though no rain. Went round through Moana, a few spits but did not rain!
It rained overnight though, to leave us with a near on cloudless day for racing!
Came home yesterday arvo, perfect ride, clear blue sky all the way!
Rather chilly through Porters, a tiny tiny bit of snow near the road, good dusting up on the peaks. Very fresh.
Couldnt have asked for better weather really.
You missed out on a fantastic trip weather wise!
