There is one already in Katikati.
I'm seriously tempted. Imagine the amount of booze it could carry on adv rides.

almost bought one way back in the early 80's
Wife didnt like the right side chair on it.
    but reverse gear was fun
interesting bike to ride, would concider it a good bike for pottering around on.
The colour was army green with no gloss.
Kids loved the chair, wife didnt. no sale

Have a look at this thread on adv rider - be warned it is 71 pages long with lots of pics. It has taken me about 3 weeks to read the whole thing. "Mr Cob" and inmate of ADV does a circuit of the states on a 08 gear up. Sounds like Urals have been improved significantly in the past couple of years. Things like brembo brakes, Bosch alternators. They look like seriously cool adv outfits especially a 2wd patrol or gear up. There is a NZ dealer is for urals being

Ural web site is here. Have a look for more videos, cartoons etc.

vege keeps talking about buying a Ural sidecar. I've shaken him, I've yelled, nothing gets through - he still wants one.

I've always wanted one, that would have to be the coolest way to do an adventure ride, althought the way I ride, a winch might come in handy for some of the retrievals.
You don't see many for sale here unfortunately and certainly none of the newer models that have some reliability, if you read about the older models they seemed to spend the entire time breaking down and falling apart.

But they don't leak oil so KLR owners would be impressed!

PS. Hello Brent, nice to see you're still alive, I'm still waiting for the photos of fatty being stuffed down the bank......at least I managed to crash the Kaboom twice before you potted fatty!

No photo's, so it never happened.
But it has fallen over about six times now, so I think a sidecar, (with a big arse "super soaker" water cannon is needed.
Next ride for me and Kanny will be Coro, and since Katikati isn't far away, I might pop into see the importer.
