    VL250 throttle

Been riding the new bike for a couple of weeks and love everything about it, apart from the cost of the first service that is, $1700.00 labour charge, but what can you do when theres only one Suzuki dealer you can go to.
Anyway one thing I have found is the throttle is not the smoothest, the only way I can describe it is a bit grabby or snatchy.
Accelerating through the gears is fine but when shut the revs off to slow down you really notice it, bit of whiplash. The only way I have found to make it smoother is to use a little clutch. The same thing happens when you open the throttle back up to accelerate.
Not a huge issue, and I only have a Honda CBF, Im married with a child so forget the gay jokes, to compare it to. So am I just being to picky or should I get it checked out?

I'm thinking (or hoping) he meant $170.

That seems to be in the right neighborhood.

I would suggest taking it back in and getting them to check the throttle cable freeplay for a start.

    Gidday dude,
Phew, glad to see we got the labour charge sorted, eh. Nearly choked on me beer mate.
As for the throttle, I found exactly the same thing to begin with but it seems to have sorted itself out. Mine goes in for it's 1000Km service in a week or so and I'll get them to look at it but I dont really think it's anything major.
Otherwise, it is a nice bike, eh...I wish I had done all this 20 years ago.
Take care, ride safe and eat pies

Yep, no worries. The bike just needed a bit of running in, some great KB'rs helped me out on that one.

I smile as well mate, they are a cracking bike...

    Hey, question for you mate,
What do you wash and polish your bike with? I use Autosol on the chrome but would be interested to know what you did with the rest?
    Cheers dude

Turtle wax products for wash and polish. I use the super hard shell polish on both paint and plastic chrome, brings it up nice and does a good job protecting it.
Make sure to use a microfibre polishing cloth, stops the swirl effect you can get on a black paint finish.
