I think that they would have the thing sealed! LOL

I was talking to a guy today adn they have 27hp Electric RC planes that will fly for around 10 mins flat out, but the batteries get so hot that they boil and they have to rest for 8 hours! LOL

yeah there are dangers, just like a loose spark near a leaking petrol line.
cheese is right tho, there'll be preventions in place, else KTM will be up for some huge claims dodgings.

Think horse versus car, all the ludites and technophobes dissed the automobile. Same goes here.

Or the idea of a 4/ dirt bike even , my suspicion is Li-Ion is not going to be the battery technology to make it happen, but assuming there is a better one coming, the 2nd generation could easily be compelling, if a 4/ is smoother power with low end torque an electric dirt bike will have a positively electrifying bottom end.

The only thing I reckon stopping it will be $60 a barrel oil, because I reckon it'll require the volume/r&d of car battery manufacturing.

Whatever happened to the supercapacitor line of thought? Virtually instant charging so there would be no waiting an hour for a recharge. That had some potential and you could DIY a primitive cell with epoxy resin and metal shavings. So the technology isn't rocker science except for the growing of the tubular carbon rods they use in the current iterations of the development.
