    Ventura front wheel stand

I'm going to get one of these Ventura front wheel stands. They should work on a trailer.

    http://www.ventura-bike.com/products...type=BikeStand

Last time I trailered the bike to Taupo using the sidestand and tie-downs it was a pain in the arse. Needed dozens of ties to keep the bike in place.
Also this stand wont be one model bike specific, like some I've seen in shops.

I saw their add in a BRM magazine and rang their Helpline who said they should retail for $219. Why advertise in a magazine and not show the price!

Shit I miss having bikes with centrestands.

Sounds good MD, will ya still have to use a couple of tiedowns or will it support the bike by itself ?

I'm only going by the pictures. But it looks like a few ties would do instead of 2 dozen.

Should make cleaning a bike easier but I can't see how it would help with chain adjustments.

Let me moan some more, it cheers me up. We put a man on the moon 38 years ago but still can't come up with a simple, small, light, out-of-the-way centrestand on sports and dirt bikes. Anyone noticed the optional extra centrestand for the new BMW F800GS !! Ha. it's big enough and ugly enough to double as a lion cage at the zoo. In fact that might be where they got it from?

OK ive put my money where my mouth is and made this

pretty simple... bolts through left hand foot peg , has been crash tested over speed bumps that bottomed out the falcoon xr6 and had the trailer leap about a half meter in the air...it stayed put thank god just got to weld a couple of loops to upright for a padlock. And yes my welding looks like bird shit... im one of those blind welders ...weld by braille

i just bought a van, best thing i ever did for transporting the bike, you can get 3 bikes plus all the gear in and youve got somewere shady to sit while you wait for the barbie to cook lunch.
