Hi - welcome - it'll be great to have you join us - we'll be coming from Jerusalem on Sat AM. Will consult others about a rendevous time at Kapoors Rd or National Park on Sat.

Have yet to finalise whether we stay at Owhango or National Park pub on Sat night. Owhango has the advantage of being at the end of the 42 when coming from Kapoors Rd - Chateau side.

Hello and nice to meet you.
I will keep an eye out for you all on this site and pick up any changes you make etc...
I have animals so will make it a day trip only and it will be a big day. Have to get back home on the Sat night but will make another day of it on the Sunday too perhaps.

    Talking confirming numbers and accommodation

ok - so it's less than a fortnight out from our ride now.

There are 5 registered for the event and TeAroha who has indicated he will link up with us on the Saturday.

I've advised the folks at Jerusalem and Owhango Hotel that we are requiring accommodation for 5 (maybe 8 including Bart, BusaJim and BoGSer).

Jerusalem is confirmed and payment will be $20 each for accommodation on the Friday night. Sleeping bags and breakfast provisions will be necessary Plan is to have a meal in Wanganui early Friday evening before heading up the River Road. It's 1.5 hours from Wanganui to Jerusalem.

I'm keen for us to arrive whilst it is still daylight. I've organised for the locals to show us the location of James K Baxter's (Hemi's) grave for those that are interested.http://www.compassion.org.nz/centres/jerusalem.htm

I'll update the calendar once Owhango Hotel confirm our accommodation. I've requested a cottage that sleeps up to 8. There is other accommodation avaialble if our numbers are suddenly swelled.http://www.owhangohotel.co.nz/Accommodation.php

Remember the objective of this ride is to have fun, challenge ourselves, look out for one another and most importantly return home safely

cheers Aslan - aka Stephen O.

Well I went and opened my moth filled wallet and brought some Knobblies!!! Now all I need is a bag for me Balls and some GS pushers. Count me in Steven. I will meet you in Wanganui (I hope). Probably wont get finished early enough to get there for tea (A pox upon the dairy industry ). Should be early enough to tag along on the river road. If not "HOT PURSUIT"

Great Colin - look forward to seeing you again - having seen you ride before on Tourances in some challenging gravel - I expect you'll be fine. Tis me that's the 'wus' opting for the DR in lieu of the 1150 which I find too heavy for my skill / confidence level.

No offence to DR enthusiasts I might offend by the above remark - I could have saved a lot of dosh had I gone straight to a DR long ago. Like the Speights ad says ..... she's a hard one lad to find the perfect bike.

The big beemer is certainly the way to go for the journey to and from the 42nd.
    cheers Aslan aka Stephen O

Hi Jim - I'm not going to get involved in that one

On the engine sprocket topic (off topic I know)- I plan on going with the circlip approach for the 14T engine sprocket and using the standard plate if and when I revert to the 15T - talk about sitting on the fence eh? 'm
