the cop was actually bloody good value. we had a laugh or two. chatted about how he was just grumpy and wanted to book me because he hadnt had enough donuts for the day. The others pulled up and got their cameras out. talked about his piece of shit ford he was driving round it. Its all part of the game.

I recon they may book you for some kind of shit anyway just `cos you have one.
I got off a "no seat belt" ticket recently in my car (I have a bad habit of pulling out the putting it on), we had a wee chat about the Valentine 1 sitting in the window but I still got off without a ticket, just gotta talk all fluffy n shit

pd: farkin good thread Cowboyz, very helpful info for all

I'll be interested to see if your setting it back to factory has the desired effect, just don't get sprung in the course of finding out if your changes work ok..

Of course, much much easier to take your advice if I owned a suzuki.

You know I never speed. It was just that once (or twice)

one thing no-one has touched on is the mounting... where did you have it mounted?

It won't like detecting through some substances (basically metals) and some plastics can reduce its abilities.

i have it mounted on top of the brake reservior (I will see if I can find a pic)

It seems to pick up servos fine. I changed some settings on it and took it for a blat today. Didnt find any police but it has stopped picking up servos now so that it good I surpose.

Don't see any problems there re reception. Just check you're not putting too much pressure on the reservoir mount, as they are normally flexible, and detectors can weigh a fair bit in comparison to a reservoir

yeah. It did stay there ok but the detector is on trial (not doing so good at the moment) so will get a proper mount for it if I get it sorted and end up buying it.

V1 saved my arse again last night !
Picked up a couple on the ride, 1st was when we hit the top of peakok hill (must have been one down on SH1 somewhere as none came up the hill)
Second was blasting home and hard went off in my face as i was about to round the corner on to peka peka straight (just got on the piks in time i'd say as the only car there was just around the bend) don't think he got me but didn't hang around to see !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
