"BMW Bean Can" looked interesting enough for me to google it. Centrifugal advance and retard? And people say KLRs are primitive.
Looks like an easy fix though, and pretty cheap, Farnells have 7 of the Honeywell devices at $32.50

Some pictures:
A Bull on the road that disrupted forward progress after he became extremely agitated following the passing of a KLR with an obnoxious loud pipe.
A burn off that was probably more extensive than planned, a fire engine was passed further down the road, heading for the site .
The beach around from Lake Ferry, showing the sort of terrain that Mark had to tow Steve and the GS through. Eddie and Nic on the DR.
Two shots of the beach track around from Lake Ferry, with the high lake encroaching on the track.
Lunch at Lake Ferry. Mark, Eddie, Steven and Nic.

There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.
Looks like a great ride. I’m definitely keen if there’s another run out there.
...if I can find some time to install my gearbox...
If you can guarantee a stunning day like that, I might even venture south.
Good stuff guys. Shame about the bike Steve.
fortunately my rear wheel just spun a lot and saved the clutch a fair bit of abuse. Steve and I were both surprised how well the tow worked given how lumpy/soft that spinfex stuff was. Bike was good and hot by the time we got out though
Stunning photos - I'm not so sure about some of the captions though (E07 was a bit out of its depth in a few places...)
I'd been feeling a bit 'meh' about riding over the last couple of months - it was great to have a really greet 'woohoo' day![]()
