    what when where?

Here is a short vid showing the car equivalents of a DR650 (the car taking the video) and the KLR650 (the car being videoed)

And incase you didn't really get the difference here's another one...

As no ones come up with any other ideas for Sunday I'll probably put up a ride on the calendar for Sunday. leaving From Caltex rimutaka at 9.15am for Ocean beach, lake ferry, and cape paliser or something along those lines (sorry Bart I know it's not the option you'd prefer)

Not sure if Andy is atill planning a ride for saturday or not?

Me and Pikey could be keen. We were planning on heading over that way on the 24th anyway to catch a bit of the Vintage MX on at Gladstone.
Could that be incorporated into the ride? Lunch at the pub?
If not, no sweat, we'll do our own thing.
Has anyone been up the Rimutaka pylon track recently? The one just after the bridge on the Greytown side of the Rimutakas. Junkman Joe took a few of us up there a few years ago now...

No probs. I'm unlikely to be in any state to ride on Sunday anyway. Watching the rugger Sat night....at the Tui Brewery.

How well do you know the vmx oganisers?, cos we did a ride here a while back and then showed up at the track and then hooned around the track for a couple of hours just after they had finished racing. Fantasically good fun and highly recommended.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

We could see what people want to do on the day, and shorten the ride a bit to call in there. The link has the VMX funday down as Sunday, which is the same day as this ride.

Will try to make it - I'm not on standby that weekend, and the bike registration hasn't expired. Shinko 705s adequate for what you have planned?
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Should be fine Pete, it's nothing to rough, or technical. From memory there is only a couple of short soft sand areas at ocean beach. not sure about around from lake ferry.

The turn off for Ocean beach is only a few hundred metres down the road

Hi Michael, We well probably do a re-group after the Rimutakas at the start of Western Lake rd, which is a couple of hundred meters short of Featherston on the south side. I'd expect us to be there by about 9.45am. If you or any other Wairarapa people want to meet us there that would probably be the best place.
