The main roads have been bulldozed recently so are in excellent condition. Here's a link to a map - most intersections are signposted.
    http://www.gw.govt.nz/assets/Parks-a...-Sept-2012.pdf

Following Gav's route at the bottom of the Pram track (2k downhill with small stream at bottom) you are approx half way thru.
If you want to add an extra loop, go 100m turn left, ride 100m downstream and you will be on Rimu Rd. Turn right at 2 intersections, ends at Orange hut.

Tyres at 15psi, stay to the left and have fun.

Thanks for the advice fellas we'll definitely put it to use
we decided to go to long gully at the last minute ...due to my hangover and the threatening rain.. nice easyish run over there today ...followed a bit of a track out towards the sea towards the sea .awesome views . hit a super steep as it looped back .hill had a crack at it but the bike spat me off half way up ...was a mish getting it up right and and couldn't get any grip so admited defeat, turned it around and limped it down the hill ,
then a guy on a klx 450 came along and pissed up it no probs ..bastard ha ha ....
The hangover didnt help my cause so i had a spew and went back the way we came . after that just kept it simple .
bloody cold coming back this avo .

hope your bike gets well soon dene

    Beer and bike talk

    Hi folks
there's a couple welly based riders meeting tomorrow night in the miramar gasworks @6:30 to talk bikes , trips , tracks etc . Bit of an ice breaker with the idea of getting a posse together for weekend ride outs and share story's etc . be nice if some veterans came along as we're all pretty new to the game .

    Following the coast

I‘m keen to ride this weekend – at this stage Saturday because that looks the better weather.

Was thinking Ocean beach, Onoke Spit, Lake Ferry around to Whangimoana, & then on to Ngawi / Cape Palliser.

Lets have a show of hands as to who is keen?

My tyres are old & I need someone to push

I'm a maybe, as that means i'd need to check the bike over tomorrow night as it's just sat in the shed since I got back on Monday from a 2500km+ trip to the Brass.

i'm having power issues so i'll probably sit it out till i get it sorted ....power drops off just about every time i really need it ..then kicks back in and tries to f**k me off the bike ...(did on one occasion on the weekend). river crossings, dips , hill climbs
    sounds like a good run

Startling lack of interest from other riders so far. I have been working on a relaxed start to the day given the above. But still aiming to get out. What time & when would you be good to go?

Perfect. Lets aim for that. Pack a lunch (or get one from the Subway at Rimutex).

Looks like a great ride, with just enough adventure for a short winters day! I spent the morning putting new fork seals in and greasing the squealing starter bush on the dr. About time I pry open the wallet and put some new tyres on. Seems like ages ago since my last proper adv ride...
