Then Lunch somewhere, and possibly up Whariti Peak before heading south via the back roads of the Wairarapa?? Stay the western side of SH2 till just south of Eketahuna. I’m thinking about doing this the weekend after next on the Sunday 5th April. Is anyone interested in a ride up that way? By the way I think daylight savings ends on the Saturday so we all get an extra hour in bed Saturday night.

Hi Andy, Unfortunatly my Saturday is booked in for work that weekend. oops it's actually Wharite Peak, but the access road to it is Whariti road, I always get that wrong and is where Joe said .

Hi Aslan, Hope the weather is kind to you, I was planning on leaving Shannon at about 09.30 to head up the Dams, not sure if that would fit in with your plans? it would be great to meet up with you at some stage of the day.

sounds great, bring them along, I might have a new to KB rider with me as well.

I hadn't really thought about the route south of Eky, but probably whatever backroads everyone feels like doing depending on the time factor.

    Cheers

Sounds good to me Joe, not sure if we'll fit everything into the day, but we can work that out as we go, I'm keen to go up to the Dams again as I only did a quick for me trip up to them last winter. Other than that we'll fit what we can in the day.

I'll put the ride up on the calendar soon.

    cheers

    Down our way???????

You thinking of coming and starting the day with us lot from Welly/Hutt Valley?

We could all start in Upper Hutt, go over the Akatarawas(either through the forest on the param track or over the road way if time is important), meet the Kapiti guys and then head up to Shannon and onwards.
You could come meet us in Upper Hutt, or if you wanna come down night before, u can always crash at my place mate.
    Cheers, Dave

I think you'll find that a certain coffee shop in Shannon will have to be visited for a Latte morning starter - especially if MarkS is with us!

Not that I ever touch the stuff myself!

Previously Marks suggested doing Odlins Rd which is halfway thru the Akatarawa Rd between UHutt to Waikanae. And if we still have any energy make a loop going thru Karapoti.
Or we can come over to the Rapa.

Aye man don't do it this weekend

Odhlins road is the more demanding ride I have done so far is quite nice and it can actually be worse than when i did it due to dampness... About 60K of nice bush ride ...

I'm keen to take the G650X over as it will be more enjoyable than the Dakar (which wasn't too bad after all)

    Cheers,
