Mark, jezzanz and a few others seem to be meeting at the coffee kiosk on the left near the new world in Waikanae at about 8.45am, how long does it take to get through the Akatarwa's as you guys could meet up with them. I'm probably going to be up kapiti way for Sat night. if you can come up with a start time from the Rimitaka Caltex I,m sure you would have some company for the ride up.

Sorry team but I have removed my name from the list of participants for Sunday, due to the soreness of my ribs. I cannot even drive, let alone ride a motorcycle over rough roads. Hopefully I will be healed enough to tackle the following Sunday's challenge.
    Regards,
    Michael

Hey Joe, from memory that track turns into a tramping track fairly quickly, and works it way across a couple of slips as well. I also remember a wire rope tramping style swing bridge on it not to far below the Waiotauru Hut. The other thing is Otaki forks road end is fairly well fenced off these days, and has resident Rangers.

the ranger comes running when he hears bikes (he has/had a ttr600). If you can ride over a long wobbly swing bridge then go for it
