I'm always on call for quality time![]()
I was referring to work "on-call", I think Eddie may have too.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Well I aren't riding this weekend in an effort to build brownie points to apply against next weeks ride down to Reefton which will also use up the following weekend.
Everyone repeat after me
"we will not do Makairo without Mark being there"
"we will not do Makairo without Mark being there"
"we will not do Makairo without Mark being there"
"we will not do Makairo without Mark being there"
"we will not do Makairo without Mark being there"
Have fun doing anything other than Makairo....
hi marks - I have let my wife know that the next adventure after the 42nd & Fishers will be Makiro on 14 or 15 Dec - talk soon - among other things our commitment to organise a Southern North Island ADV ride - cheers S![]()
those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind..
I needed a break yesterday so I took the DT and tootled part way up Odlins Rd (to the turnaround area about half way in). The track is in poor condition and is very stony with lots of ruts and steps. There is even a double slip forming a 1 m wide 'razor back' which has danger tapes across the track (bikes fit under OK)
I would like to have another go next weekend with the KLR but wouldn't want to go without some willing pushers/lifters - some of the knarly bits would be nasty if you took the wrong line.
I am quite prepared to go in and then bail if it becomes too hard on big bikes.
Its certainly about the knarliest track I'd be prepared to take the KLR on. Decent tires and preferably bashplates along with unjustified levels of confidence are recommended.
Anyone stupid enough to join me?
You can help me find the sun hat I lost yesterday![]()
I'll come along for a look,
I better get off my arse and swap that rear tyre over then.
That track was scary last time![]()
would Sat afternoon (6th) work? - forecast is better than Sunday - maybe meet somewhere for lunch at Waikanae (Beach?) and then head off up the hill?
Anyone else other than Busajim silly enough to come along????

So Mark r u still going tomorrow? Time? Not sure I can make it but if I do then don't know what to do![]()
I'm still keen but I think we need a minimum of 3 in case we need to drag a heavy bike out of somewhere it don't belong.
If it works better for you on Sunday and if Sundays OK for Busajim then its fine by me.
Maybe we could meet at the Karapoti entrance at 10ish Sunday and ride through to the Quad centre then onto Paraparaumu for coffee and then up to Waikane to Oldins Rd?
What works best for you?
Busajim - you want to comment????
