Wellington Rideouts - Where next?

For anyone that is considering joining Marks & me on Odlins & poss Karapoti tomorrow(Saturday 13th); the weather forecast is not that great, so we're gonna post on here by around 8.30am if we're bailing due to weather!

Saturday ride is a go - meeting at 180 degrees cafe in Paraparam Beach 10am!

met with Dave and Fred this morning and went up Oldins Rd in the drizzle/rain. Had lunch in the hut.

great ride - very little clay so wet didn't matter. We all stayed upright and had a blast.

Shame couldnt make it today,
Should be a grin tomorrow, heading over the akatarawa road at about 8am so that I have time for a quick detour....Shhhh, secrets. Then meet at upper hutt caltex for 9.30. Gonna be a good...

Bastards, I really want to go up Odlins road but today didn't work for me. I still haven't been up there.

Nor have I. About time I got down that way for a look around. The 2hr+ trip each way is a bit off puting though.

tomorrow.

pylon track is going to be riden, unless we all arse off half way up in a big heap.....

after we finished there we will tootle up to gladstone pub, and have a pit stop.
cupper beer or top shelf up to you.

after there we wonder through summer hill in to martinbrough.

for of course......HOOTERS.....

.....boobys.....

oh sorry..carryed away there.
once we done her... i mean there...ya can all fuk off home.

You'd absolutely love Odlins Rd Bart - totally your cup of tea mate! The back side down to the hut is challenging to say the least, especially on the way back out! There's something like 6 washouts on that back side with some tricky steep descents/climbs on the entries & exits! But bloody good fun!

Completing it with no "offs" on only th 2nd time in there made my day!

And Mark was really good waitin for me every so often, as I was takin it slow & sensible, really appreciated that!

Havin D606's on the DR sure made alot of difference vs havin Trail Wings on the last time!

I'll see you Welly/Kapiti/Hutt guys at the Caltex at 9.30!

Gav, we'll hang around a bit for ya if ya little detour(

) takes a few mins longer than expected! If you do miss us at the Caltex, go straight over the Rimutakas on SH2 and we'll be at the concrete blocks at the bottom of the north side just after the bridge on the sharpish left hander!
