Hi Joe, as I can't guarantee that I well be free, I am going to refrain from organising a tour at the moment, I probably have a fairly good chance of having Saturday free to ride at the moment, unless My daughter decides she wants to come home early. I was thinking of heading out to Akitio via some of the roads Mark did the other week, as it is a while since I rode them.
Thanks for the offer Mark, but as I haven't had time to get a new back tire on yet, and I don't think I will be able to this week, probably not the best place to take a nearly bald rear tyre on a KLR. I must get a smaller bike for these knarler rides sometime

Paved Roads are just another example of Wasted Taxpayer Dollars
Just a reminder...
On Sunday morning Fred and I (and hopefully Bruce) are going to head up Odlins Rd and, if time/energy permits go through the Akatarawa Rd to Karapoti and then back over the super slippery Pram Track to Paraparaumu.
Good tires are a must for the muddy clayfest Karapoti stuff and recommended for Odlins Rd (which is much more stony and less affected by wet)
Probably leave the coffee kiosk at the north end of Waikanae at 10.30 and be at the summit car park at 11. Odlins takes a lazy 3 hrs so out by 2pm then 30 minutes through Aka's to Karapoti and about 2hrs to get to the quad Center in Paraparaumu - so out about 4.30.
I'll probably be on the DT230 (KLR has no forks or wheels at the moment)
not sure if i will be there mark.
if i m not at the summit by the time your there.
im a no show.. yea i know...pussy...

Well I was seriously considering manning up and doing Odlins on the PD to show up these girly KLR riders who only take their little bikes up there.
But the rain is hosing straight against the side of my house so I've put my blouse on.

Odlins - KLR and PD would be quite doable (in a fun challenging way - not a "I'm going to die" challenging way) - its the Karapoti/Pram track stuff that I have serious doubts about on the KLR - I can see a lot of potential for pain and broken plastic in there.
If you can get the PD through the Karapoti etc at the moment I will admit I'm a girly KLR rider who can only handle a little one
Anyways...
Its cold and rainy here at the moment so I'm going for a coffee. If the weather clears at all Fred and I will at least do Odlins Rd but maybe not until 12-1
will update later this morning
Remember that the more tricky rides you do the less plastic you will break.
This is because either you have got better at what you do or more likely broken all the plastic already. Therefore you should long term loan the DT and WR to me and use the KLR for everything. Honestly I do not mind doing this for you. Really no trouble at all.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
