I was heading there, after I got lost heading for Red rocks and trying to find a gas station, crickey Wellingtons a big place

Ended up out at Eastbourne, damn gates across good looking gravel at the end of the seal.The beach is kinda soft too

Still had a stunning ride back to Queen Charlotte dr and back over the Maungatap in the late evening.
Anybody wanna swap a DR750 (in bits) for a DR250, shit little bikes are fun

Somewhat ironic that this motorcyclist is working hard to make the Rimutuka road less enjoyable for motorcyclists what!

Next thing you I suppose you are going to be telling us is that you are helping to seal gravel roads..................!

I went over on saturdayat about 11 had a good ride up this side ubtil about 1/4 of the way down...I could have squeezed past in a few places but ...on the way back at about four i had a really clear run up the featherston side till just after the summit,then back in the queue....

oh well...if you guys dont like the new road when we are finished.....just do what the fellar did in his car and ride over the bank......................

im going to be first bike in nz to ride the new road,,,,gravel style...

Hi lads, me and Pampa were thinking of going for a wee after-work excursion on Monday night. Nothing too serious or distant, just fill in a couple of hours.

Anyone else keen? Unsure where to just yet - maybe over the Rimutakas for a play on the tracks at the bottom of the other side (where those concrete blocks are). Option B could be Red Rocks. Probably not akatarawas at this stage till the weather sorts itself out.

so if we head over the hill, meet at Caltex at say 6pm? If we head south to Red Rocks then meet at the carpark at the same time? Open to discussion, I just want to ride.

Put me down as a maybe. Dunno how far I'd get through Red Rocks after Devils Gate as I'm running a very unknobbly rear tyre at the moment but keen to have a go.

Bryce, also keen on a rear tyre, I need something with grip and pay day is tomorrow.

Hi Buggs, forgot to mention I was over karapoti last weekend and water crossings were fine. It was surprisingly dry except for couple of spots at the top of first big hill but nothing problematic.

OK, I'm keen for just a little excursion tonight. Nursing some injuries so my plan is to head over the rimutakas, turn left through the concrete blocks at the bottom of the other side and just play around on those tracks for an hour or so.

6PM AT CALTEX UPPER HUTT (will wait till 6:10pm then make your own way over the hill if you're late).
