looks like rain might be the easy bit, Metservice have warnings up for snow, http://www.metservice.co.nz/public/w...arningMap.html Not sure what I'm up to this weekend, I have to finish off a service on the bike before I go for a ride.

but a little bit of rain or snow isn't a worry for this KLR rider

I'm on call for work & there's no way I'm getting out for a ride this weekend. The phone started ringing at 7:20am this morning and is currently doing it's best to give me a brain tumour.

I seem to be just below the cold line on the hill, frosts stop 300m further up the hill, as does any low cloud.

well while you lot have been dicking around on internet forums I've been productive.

Gave the klr a major wash
    new oil and filter
    clean and reoil air filter
    adjust dohickey
    adjust and lube chain
tighten a few misc nuts and bolts

tires are getting marginal and front pads a bit thin but all ready for the next ride

that sounds a bit like what I have planned for tomorrow, plus changing my spark plug, checking valve clearance's, and change of fork oil.

Changing the fork oil to something more suitable if it isn't already is probably the 2nd cheapest bang for buck performance upgrade a rider can do after fitting an appropriately sized front sprocket.

I did the PD when I got it and it made a world of difference, I do it to most of my bikes.

Fitting new front springs is probably 3rd, and is an option I'm currently considering.

you know - I don't think I can last 2 months till the mmmm without an over-nighter

would anyone be interested in a modified 'Barts Loop' - ride around the Ruahines - including Takapari and Gentle Annie but maybe heading out to the east coast for the loop back? - got to include Waitahora Rd and Towai Rd

maybe towards the end of the month (27th/28th?)

Finances allowing, I'd be interested Mark! That's enough notice for me to organise child care for the Sunday afternoon too.

    Cheers, Dave
