yip thats cool theres no rush.
will look in to getting a set of chunky tires for fun time.....
did a twiglight run tonight over the Pram track tonight - Paraparumu to Upper Hutt - taking the long way home from work - the ascent up out of Dopers had far more rocky surfaces exposed that last time I was through there about 3 weeks ago
those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind..
Devils staircase anyone?![]()
can ya go down it ok or just splat all over it
Dunno to be perfectly honest. Tried going up it once. Not a shit show. Would like to have a go down. Would have to be very dry in there though. Just a small amount of rain, and the rock turns to soapy clay. The Rock Garden on the other side of the gully is also a challenge. Almost spent the night in there once, (not by choice).![]()
Went today for a quick run to the Karapoti and aftter the rain was very slippery but nice a little bit of overcast over the top put the tire pressure really low 16psi on both tires. The first stream crossing is now quite good, last time I went it was pretty gnarly
There were quite a few trail riders but nobody can keep up with my snail pace ...and no mad quads thanks god
Cheers,
Pampa
nice pics Pablo - your first pic shows the rough stuff I was commenting about on my Thursday night ride - cu out there sometime - cheers S![]()

Here are some rides coming up in the next couple of months.
6,7,8, March Huntly - Mike Britton Epicurian Ride
15 March Levin - Horowhenua Club
28,29 March Waiouru - Tussock Buster (not to be missed) http://www.offlimits.co.nz/tussockbuster
5 April Otaki - Horowhenua Club
3 May Otaki - Horowhenua Club
24 May Levin - Horowhenua Club
I will definitely be attending the Waiouru - Tussock Buster ride.
Looks like trail rides to me. There's one every weekend around here, which is probably the reason I went to adventure riding. Fighting over a 1 metre wide piece of farm track with 400 other riders wears thin real quick. Everyone wants to be a Crusty.![]()
Hum yeah I don't like that, specially cause I'm at the right opposite end of the 'crusty' scale
. Just due to the lack of skills experience and will to risk my neck
doing something stupid I should have learnt many years ago ...
Nowithstanding that I'd like to do trail rides and learn
Cheers,
Pampa
