Not even my own bikes are perfectly set up for myself. I sort out major issues, like the forks not sliding nicely etc, get the shop to set it up using a rough idea, using their knowledge of issues from factory, and ride it
Most bikes come from factory sprung for 75-85kg (japs are 75, euro etc are more like 85, more realistic), so they should all be undersprung and soft. When it gives me a bone jarring ride, and I weigh 100kg... how the hell are they setting up their bikes?![]()

Hi Mia,
I'm facing the same dilemma after a 250.
I haven't ridden either yet. Problem is I need to get the cash, because I know once I ride I will be bitterly disappointed if I cannot buy then and there.
Money no object - between the two I'd choose the Street Triple R. Coming to Motorad very soon (both orange and titanium grey colours). However at $16.5k not the cheapest option! See this link for a summary of differences between the Street Triple and Street Triple R here:
http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...=street+triple
Kawasaki ER-6N advantages:
Lower seat height by about 25mm (if that is important to you)
Cheaper (by $5k - $6.5k depending on your choice of Street or Street R)
Triple advantages:
50% more horsepower
Torque might be more usable over the rev range. A review I've read said pretty much 60Nm is available from 3,500revs up
For me - looks
Possibly better brakes and suspension - definitely on the R version.
Let us know how you go.... when are you thinking of buying? I know the prices have gone up recently on the Kawasaki stuff with our dollar weakening against asian currencies
Cheers,
David.
