    My kinda Harley.

I've seen this one in the flesh, and it's gob smacking beautiful.XR1000s are rare and a total waste of a motor based on the flattracker XR750,well the heads at least.A mate of mine has an XR1000 or two,his is even worse than Harley's attempt,it's the thumb nail.

There's something kinda backwards about that bike.

He built this one for his brother who has some ''mobility'' problems, hence the forward controls. He's also got an XLCR or two that hasn't gone since he pulled it apart before....well before I had a beer gut anyway.

So jimmy - do you know who has that gorgeous XR1000 down your way? I saw it at the Puke Classics last year, but it had gone before I could snap a shot.

I think I know the bike you speak of. High twin pipes, narrow bars?

I don't know the owner but I think he spanners for a classic racer. I see it every year at Wanganui.

I luff it VERY VERY much.

The knucleheads have an aura about them that no other harley comes close too. Like the handle bars. Understated 'in ya face.'

Pipes look mean. Just the thing to run past Tim Barnetts electral office at full throttle.

There is a dude down here that pops up at the odd rally with an XR1000 - fitted with Yamaha (by memory) front forks and wheels etc, makes you do a double-take when you realise what it is.
Aparently it handles real well and storms along quite nicley thank you!!
