I think the cowl might be 5-7.5ml thick? I'm not too sure really, thats just a guesstimate. I was thinking plastic welding, and a respray to fix it. And then buy another one later on aye. Might need some green tape for it in the meantime though, instead of the blue I had to use today. Clutch lever should be easy to get though?

yeah, excess on my old bike was $750, and that was only a 125cc through State. With Vero/Golightly now, so not sure on their excesses

my friend has an 06 zx6r that fell at low speed as well, the first thing that happened was the rear cowl broke in the exact same way.

I don't think crash bungs would of saved the rear at all.


I dropped my CBR after moving it inside after a few too many beers ( pushing it) and the only damage was to the bar end ( which I lost later on anyway?) sounds like you had some bad luck!

I would definitely agree with the plastic weld and respray replacement fairings are painful at best. You might be really lucky and see replacement parts on trade me.

Levers, mirrors, indicators and all those sorts of bolt-on things are almost always cheaper as after market. I got a gear lever, rear + front brake lever and clutch lever for my last zxr, worked out to be 1/3 the price for Kawasaki original parts.

yea parts should be easy to find as its pretty new .
check inside the cowl and see if you can locate the plastic type most likely abs
will check this l8r ive gotta go move family

I've not seen many parts around... but then i have only really looked on trademe.

I know a few places around waikato, the www.speed-tech.co.nz guys are right up there with kawasaki parts where to get them. Just give them a bell, they should be able to sort you out

There's not a lot of anything used for RR's in NZ

I was just leaving for work at 5.30am this morning, got the bike out of the driveway, set it on its side stand to close the gate.........was just about to put the latch on, and I hear this CRUNCH!
Turned around and heres my lovely bike lying on the ground
Now I know the automatic kill switch works
So after I finished having my anger fit, my boyfriend (who jumped out of bed when he heard the crunch) helped me pick it back up, cheers Andy! and then we surveyed the damaged.

Broken wing mirror, broken clutch lever, few scrapes/scratches along the side of the fairings/engine cover.......but worst of all, the rear seat cowl broke/cracked Oh the front left indicator also popped out, but managed to pop it back in.
I'm hoping its not too expensive too fix cos I dont really want to claim insurance for it.

First photo(taken with cellphone) is how it looked beforehand (it looked brand new)

It's bummer when something like this happens. The only consolation for what it's worth is that the next scratch/ding won't feel as bad.

Would this be worth a shot? I'll go see the bike shop tomorrow first though, see what they have sitting around there. And also see what they say about getting the rear cowl fixed
