    New 2nd-hand CRF150 questions

    Hi All,

Have just got a CRF150 to chase the nippers about on (and fall off a lot) & I have some newbie-type questions:

    1. Where's the idle-speed adjuster on the carb? My money's on the biggish screw in line with the end of the kick-start lever as you look at the bike (RHS), but best to check before I start fiddling.

    2. What's that funny flying-saucer-thingy just behind the top of the slide housing on top of the carb?

    3. Is it worth trying to repair the flash-looking bodywork whch has come off the tank-mount at the front right? My first idea is to drill 2 holes and apply a small cable-tie instead of the lug & plastibolt, but that might be stronger than the original mount & break the tank.

    4. Are owners manuals still available for a 2003 model? I can check this at the dealer tomorrow, of course...

    5. Anything I should know about these bikes which I should have known yesterday?

    Cheers,
    BM-GS

Have you taken it out yet? Where do you intend to ride? I've just bought a XR100R for the kids to play on and plan to head up to The Sandpit on sunday if you are interested? The XR100R hasn't been ridden for 2 years so I have done a bit of a general service on it...plug, lube, clean. Rings are a bit tight from the lack of use so hopefully the run at the Sandpit will help free them up. Will be taking it into cycletreads on saturday for a new rear tyre (better they remove the axle than I just in case it's seized onto the bush!).
Anyway hope to see you up there!

he's also heaps cheaper than cycletreads... and from my experience, a lot friendlier and more prompt service

on the other hand- cycletreads is kinda like a dairy - you pay for the convenience that they have pretty much everything in stock, and are open every day

Thanks for the headsup about scott, but I'm only like 7 mins away from Barrys Pt Rd, rear tyre plus fitting is around $80. Love to support KB members and all but it's the convenience thing about the deal. Drop bike off, go down to Taka's Beach for an icecream with my girl, spot the talent sipping their flat whites and 40 mins later it's all sorted! ..well not my craving for a bit of icecream
