I like the idea of my ninja selling for more than i paid !!!!
a few good bikes in this thread, but i like the idea of learning on a nice 250, then moving up to a bigger bike.
keep searching but i do reccomend the 250r, 2 years mechanical warrenty, ease of mind being brand new, first owner,...etc

there heaps of good looking zxr's on trademe at the moment. selling for about 4 - 4.5K with probably less k's on them then the one your looking at at the dealer!
im looking to buy a zxr soon too. apparently we have to be weary of the k's on the clock though im not sure how to know whether the k's are genuine or not!

"need some expert advice..." - well you have come to the right place, coz we are all experts here

As a professional "expert" I will tell you that the hornet 250 is the best handling bike from all 250s.

also as an expert I know where you are coming from and therefore know you will not listen to me about the hornets, which is because you like the sports bike feeling. My advice - dont buy anything older than 95 year in those zxrs, and also have a look at hyosung gt250R. not the FASTEST bike , but has good looks, and will get you started. Economical too.

all that said. get yourself a hornet - the best possible bike for a learner

lol cool comment. im tossing up between a zxr or a hornet, havent test riden either yet but they seem to be the best of the 250's (not really fond of CBR's). are you biased at all becoz you own(ed) one?

Its a shame the CBR is an MC19 (R). The next year MC22 (RR) has much better looks.

    Take your time. I didn't and got a CBR250RR MC22 with 27,000kms for sub $4k.
