Make sure the rego and warrant are current on your 250. The tester will check before you begin the test.

Make sure that everything on the bike is working. The tester will ask you to demonstrate that the indicators, horn, brake lights etc are working.

When you come up to an intersection, wait until there's a decent sized gap as the tester has to be able to follow you.

Mate, the hardest part of the test is remembering the directions the tester gives you on where to go. Left here, right there etc. The rest is a piece of piss.

Take it out for a squirt first! The bike you grubby lot, though the other cant hurt either to be fair. Heaven help you if you wobble and stall all over the place during your test, them 125's can be deceptive little beasties

I had a super-cruisy tester for my full. I'm sure he was stoned or summat.

I screwed up his directions, got lost, fucked around Mairangi Bay for a full ten minutes looking for him, found him having a snooze in the car on the side of the road. He was quite happy to carry on once I turned up. I got the impression that having hapless motorcyclists get lost halfway through their tests was a regular thing for him.

Pootled back, no comment offered, he ticked the boxes and signed the form and handed me my new licence. I'm pretty sure I could have done a burnout at any stage without hassle...

it is about 20 years, and many big bikes since i passed my learners.

any tips for a slacker on what to do/not to do.

you are one step ahead of me mate....I got my learners in ?1987? I think...and my licence expired on my 35th birthday (thats 2005). Went to AA on monday to see what I needed to do to get it sorted. Contrary to some opinions I have heard it seems like I do not have to resit my test, I just need to renew, then I will go onto my restricted ASAP, and hopefully have my full soon enough...

LOL, i did my full in whangarei, the deal was he followed behind and i had to watch his indicators for directions. i asked what happens if he falls too far behind due to accleration differences etc, he said "if we get seperated just head back to the AA and wait".

after less than 5 mins i had lost him due to the 3pm school traffic, so took the direct route back to the AA, waited 15mins for him to turn up, and received my licence.

    easy peasy.
