    How often to service bike?

I just bought a 1990 ZZR250 and was just wondering how often I should go in to get it serviced and how much I should expect to spend on it. Alternatively, is there any sort of book or manual that will tell me what I need to know to do it myself?

very 6000kms you should get oil/filter changed.
which is standard for most japanese bikes, with plugs every 12,000 km or so.

How often for newer 2 strokes like my RG?
It's just clocked 15,000, has had a rebuild at like 12-13k I believe, not sure about service history. Obviously doing the 15k service asap, but how often afterward?

Having said that, anywhere in particular in Christchurch that someone can vouch for for good 2 sroke servicing?

    Cheers

every 3000-4000km and filter every second oil change. Use good quality motorcycle oil.

and don't forget your spark plugs too, some say 12000km's but again you get for what you pay.and they are cheep as ...never clean with sandpaper..no matter how light of a grade...Replace with new..also buy ya's a vizibleed..it allows you too bleed your brakes one handed.and helps in releasing the brake nipple to allow you to push back brake pad's making it easyer to change pads as well
