I was looking at that issue the day before yesterday.
The RE5 never took off because (a) it was too radical, (b) the "Fuel Crisis" came along, (c) the Wankel rotors had problems with the longevity of the seals/rotor tips (d) I believe the engine ran too hot.

I wonder whose bike that is? Jantar? I noticed it seemed to have non-standard (i.e., non-cylindrical) instruments - from a GT750??

The things I liked about the magazine were that it was a NZ mag, it had nice layout and 'look' to it, and the content looked pretty good.

I don't think I'd buy one though. I'm not generally allowed bike mags, so they need to be pretty special before I'll buy one. Most times, I look at them in a bike shop, flick through the pages, then decide I can't be bothered. I'd rather ride than read. (Having said that though, the few magazines I still have (sold or turfed HEAPS) are very well read....
    ... and that's what I think.

I like the mg BIG TIME since Glenn was good enough to give me a shot at writing when no others would and then backed up my stupid riding style to the winging NZ motorcycling public.

You liked that shit, didn'y ya Mr Ulness?

good mag, I've found it very helpful and insightful into the world of Biking in NZ.

Yep - I agree - a good mag. Crap choices for their bikes of the year though, but at least they were brave enough to admitted they hadn't ridden many of the contenders, or that some were not ridden in time to be considered (ZX10 I think).

I buy it when I can find it. I guess there's always a subscription type thing.

BRM has just had a significant "makeover" and looks a whole lot better for it. Quality control, particularly spell and grammar checking, has gone up a few notches as well. While there is still room for improvement on the production side, this mag is heading in the right direction.

Choice of content has always been good. I think they strike a good balance. I particularly like their touring stories as, and I know WT may disagree, there's more to motorcycling than wheelies...

You will always find stories in BRM that you won't find anywhere else. Good enough reason by me to keep buying it.

Its scary when ya pick up a mag and there's an article on or picture of someone you know..

Even Linda B has had an article published!

Good mag! and good people who write the mag!!
I managed to meet them at New Plymouth during the Long track speed way. Bloody nice people!!!
My old GSXR400 was even in it! (same artical as WT's test of the Gixer 600)

I suggest everyone goes and buys the mag!!

Just ask your local book store to order it for you if they don't have it on their shelves, If one ever passes through Kawerau you will find a copy at the local bookstore along with some other good bike mags.... Ishould know
