Sandpit tomorrow (Sunday) here we come!

Well, got a new rear tyre sorted out for the XR100R at cycletreads today and now my daughter can't wait to try it out at the Sandpit tomorrow. This time will take the whole family out there and even mum might give it a go!
Mind you Kimmys might be a go if it stays dry?
    Who's goin where?

I checked out the boots at cycletreads and found a pair my daughter liked, something to tuck away for X'mas. I've got a couple of well used ones, dunno what brand, that I inherited with the XR200 that I dont use. I use a pair of really comfy oilriggers ankle boots. Oil and fire proof with steelies in them. Lace and zip up. I find they give me more feel on the gear selector. Mind you I only nanny around the track with the kids these days so not too worried about shin protection.

omg, better not tell mum that! My girl is 10 and is keen as. It's a toss up which track to go to. From Birkenhead I'd say Helensville or Huntly is prob around 20 minutes difference? Never been to Kimmy's but a clay track is compelling reason.

kimmys is quite safe, if you ride within you comfort zone. i think her dad was pushing her a bit to get faster, they were parked next to us and you could hear them fighting about it. poor girl was obviously a begginer, well at that track she was anyway. hope shes feeling better.

yea, i think its better to follow someone who is a bit faster than you, you can judge corner speed alot better and pick the same lines, and also guage your speed for the jumps. she came off on the new part of the track, theres a couple of off camber corners which almost got me too, and that pond isnt far away if you have a bit of a shocker

    Sandpit it is

Okay the general consensus from the fam is the sandpit. We're heading off now. We're in a blue/silver RVR with 2 red/white/blue classic XR's if anyone feels like popping over for a beer. Kids are welcome to have a go on the XR100.
