This is what i want - right shape and rise etc...
Was it anyone in here on a white Hornet 250 down the Southern M/Way at about 5pm-ish? I gave you a good hearty wave as you went off the off ramp (if you could see me behind my gigantic satelite topbox)
These look good, although I don't like the cross bar. Looks hell ugly to me.
Anyone have Renthals on their hornet? Does it make a difference to the lane splitting capabilities? I'm pretty happy zipping through traffic on the hornet at the moment and wouldn't want to inhibit this at all.
Well, the crossbar itself isn't toooo bad but the foam protector on it is HIDEOUS.
Can you get Rethals without the crossbar?
Oh, and I'm pretty n00bs at this whole new bar thing. The fat bars or MX bars or whatever, are they larger in diameter than standard and is that why you need the bar adaptor things?
Only reason I'm really after new ones eventually is cos I bent the left side on my bike slightly
and if I could have my arms sit a liiiiiittle further out that would be nice as the palm of my hands rest on the bar ends at the moment.
There's a whole suite of Renthal 7/8 road bars, that'll fit. Just a matter of deciding what sort of sweep and rise you'd like. I'm thinking I'd like to be leaning forward a little more. Probably more uncomfortable around town, but better on the open road with a bit of wind pressure. I think its only the "street fighter" road bar that has the cross brace.

you may wanna pm nomis, and ask him. he had his 250 hornet modivied to the wazzu
Cheers dude! Will be a while before I get em though, as money is a liiiiiitle tight round these ways, haha!
Oh, I got in trouble with that once before with a ride on. Removing the limiter worked well, K&N scooter filter also helped, running it on AVGas improved things out of sight, re-gearing the rear end was good for lifting the front - and removing the baffles from the exhaust; well, that was less popular with the neighbours, got me discovered, and both my friend and I got in trouble with his wife. Yes, I was very afraid of his wife; she was evil without sanity and care.
The mods also seemed detrimental to the lifespan of that motor.
And the difference is in the care factor as well. I actually paid for this lawnmower...![]()
Its diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; its life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
Renthal bars have a massive range. First you have the types, streetfighter, mx, etc. In each category, you have a range, based on sweep, rise, width etc. They will also differ if rotated in the mounts a little.
Best you ask a shop if they have a few, to try putting them on your bike, next to the mounts, and see what you think.
I have an mx set of Renthals, quite flat, pulled the foam roll off it (its just velcro) and the cross brace can be handy for mounting things on.
