A Hornet ride, eh? Have to check it out sometime when the bike doesn't have a goddamned puncture. I just fitted a new battery as well...
Remember to never split an infinitive. The passive voice should never be used. Do not put statements in the negative form. Proofread carefully to see if you words out. And don't start a sentence with a conjugation. (William Safire)

    Good ride, good ride.

I'm guilty of not slowing down when the ones behind us disappear... in my (shoddy) defense - I hadn't heard that point before!

Must say though, I think I jinxed myself by telling Jason how much I hate riding in the rain and dark with a tinted visor. Lo and behold, as soon as we set off from the darkening beach it started to rain... Many a bug commited suicide upon my face.

It was a great ride, I must say. Nice and sedate and everyone behaved, until Toto stopped to change his light height.. I said I would run on forward to let everyone else know - gosh it took me an age just to catch up! Hopefully Toto and Sharry caught up.

Well it was a great ride, seems to be the end of my luck - I was going to work this morning and got collected by a car. The strange thing was there was no lanesplitting involved, I was being the picture perfect rider and managed to get absolutely collected by a guy just plain not looking. He admitted fault straight away after a few stern words.

My bike has looked better but considering how intense the impact was, it could have been worse.. he snapped the right footpeg off and crushed my leg into my bike, (thank GOD for Givi Crash cage, saved my engine 100%). I somehow by the grace of gods managed to stay on and stop to a stand still, not sure how I pulled that one off, but yeah - looks like my Hornet is out of action for a bit until insurance is sorted out

Crikey, glad to hear you are okay there zeo! Impacts between large bits of metal and squishy human bits don't usually work out too well! Ahh poops, your bike was a minters one as well ... never mind, you are safe and thats what counts.

Hmmm thinking back to yesterday, I daresay your mum and girlfriend must have had a premonition of some sort! So, how you getting to work?

I am home now, sore bits are getting sorer, the bike is still somewhat rideable even with the peg snapped clean off, I was resting my foot on the rear set. I keep finding more scratches and stuff from the impact
I will say the policeman was very good and after I had calmed down the at-fault driver was also very helpful and has already admitted fault to his insurance company. He did seem genuinly remourseful so I couldn't stay angry for too long, I was just upset that my best mechanical friend is now a bit scraped up

I can vouch for the Givi Crash Cage though, wow, still can't believe how much damage it stopped (and inflicted on the car). Really top grade stuff, my engine is fine.

It's more my fiance that's the worry wart.
Just took it into Botany Honda, mechanic gave me some donor parts from his VTR to put onto my bike, so it's still rideable while they tally up the damage.. it is actually extremely minor for how much force went into shunting me. So I am very lucky, my best bike isn't a write off, not even close. Just a couple of scrapes and bruises (mostly to the givi cage)!
