That upright seating position feels more like riding a scooter, or sitting in a kitchen chair, than riding a sports bike to me.
The Daytona however was on the other end of the scale, ass up in the air, all the weight on my wrists. Again, however, loved the noise, had an almost il4 whine from the front of the bike and a v-twin rumble from the rear.

Yeah, the real torque kicks in at about 9k, with peak around 15, as you say. Best thing about the MC22s is that they aren't limited. Definitely going to enjoy.

Yeah, the VTR sounds good (the one I was looking at had a Yoshi pipe, sounded really nice). The position was weird - kind of halfway between properly upright (like Scorpie) and in sportbike crouch (like the-CBR-which-is-as-yet-unnamed).
Will wait and see on the Daytona... does sound very nice from videos, though...

A nice quiet pootle around the back blocks tonight, some Star Wars references and grub in nice company. Gravel around the Hunuas made it more interesting and the ride back for Momotea was a nice sedate affair.

I think we head North next time!

Dropped into Botany Honda on the way home today, noticed in the garage a very tidy looking CBR250RR getting the once over before it went to it's rightful owner. I have to say the pearl white looks very good on that bike!

Yeah, she's pretty much mint but for a ding on the tank (which she had when she was shipped in from Japan, according to the Botany Honda guys). She's so pretty! Unfortunately, I can't show her off to you guys on Monday, I'm working, but next week...

Nah, black is the new black, but there's something about pristine white bikes that always strikes a chord... You should have seen me drooling over the white CBRthou...

I'll be going back today to pick up my bike and drop off my hilarious loaner, time to defile a certain 250.

Although after riding back on this sorry excuse for a bike I might be too sore!

Eh why are you riding that thing? Was your new beastie due for a 1000km service or something?

    Yeah first service. :P
Richard decided to throw a Fury at me.

Now, I usually quite like cruisers but this faux-chopper is almost on bar with the SV650 in terms of how much I dislike a motorcycle. It's preeetty bad!

Well at least it's better fun than sitting at school typing up the same batch of reports again due to the bloody server throwing a tanty and deleting my ones!

Hooooo boy there are some crazy folk on our roads.

I was riding home from picking my bike up from Botany Honda, on the motorway - as the South Western connects to the Southern this red trashy holden was coming onto the onramp at speed and he seemed to think that since he had his indicator on that meant he could cross four lanes at speed, making me stomp on the picks in order to avoid squishdom.

I went to the other lane as he was stuck behind a slowpoke and I passed him, looked at him and shook my head and he brmm brrrrmmm'd up to me and gave me the fingers. So I gave him the fingers back :P

Well! He took exception to that and the chase was on! He went into my lane, so I went to the next lane, he went in the next lane also. I went onto the offramp to go home and so did he. Curious, I thought. I might add he had three kids with him in that car while he was being a maniac.

I was coming up to the lights that were green and they changed yellow as I approached - I went through before the red and he was a good few seconds behind me so it would've been a good second or three when he went through the red light, wheels screaching and everything!

I thought this was getting kinda out of hand, he has three little kids in there! So I nipped past a few cars and pootled on home.

Talk about anger issues! If you don't want someone to shake your head you, don't try squish them!

On the bright side I got my Ventura rack on now! No more getting caught in the rain, and I have a 12v adapter to install and I need to put that Stebel on sometime soon too!

    I my bike.
