Also you'll know what it feels like to be a big boy one day, when you finally decide to take the training wheels off and get a real bike.
I am working on the training wheels... I have raised them up a few more centimetres.

Don't think I will get rid of them though, they really help with low speed manoeuvres... Gymkhana here I come.

George recommended Metzeler M3s for the fireblade.
Tyre Metzeler M3 front 130/70-16 $274 inc GST
Tyre Metzeler M3 rear 180/55-17 $329 inc GST
Any thoughts on this tyre? Reasonable prices?
I'm a bit limited with the 16 inch front tyre

I have not personally used the m3's but i hear they were quite good. I recently fitted dunlop Sportmax sportsmarts to my bike and i love them.
I have not ridden on a better tire so far. I havebarely done 100km's from new and they are planted, grippy and tip in very smoothly.

I could also suggest Conti Road attack 2's for good overall wear and life. And i hear M5's are also very good.

Depends how much you want to spend.

Who is this motorcycle doctor you speak of? my bike is in need of a service badly and i want the best deal possible.

Are you sure you have only done 100kms on them? It feels like about 3 weeks ago that you bought new tyres.

Any way this is the motorcycle DR

Have had M3's on CBR954 and CB919. Worked really good on both. Very sporty. Don't use as long distance tire, as it is not a sport touring tire for long trips.

I loved them on the Coro loop. Very confident inspiring.

"my total investment was $185 for the swap, including the wheel, spacers, and machining. I would do it again in a heartbeat, I LOVE the way the bike feels on the new rim/tires."

    may be worth a look.

Cheers all for the feedback. Im booked in for the steering head and front wheel bearings with George next week, and while hes about it Im replacing the rear sprocket, and gearing up a tiny bit to increase pick up. No complaints about the mid range, but there is no such thing as too much power
Wanpo: I may try this eventually, but am keen to try what the bike feels like when its all sorted with new rubber. I do like how nimble it feels with the 16inch front wheel, so I may keep it stock for some time yet.
I may turn up for a ride tonight, but Ill only be cruising until I get this work done.

I'm a bit under the weather tonight! so no riding for me. The bugs the school kids have finally caught up with me (I must be getting old, riding through the rain might have given me a little more a sniffle!)

But, if I pull off a recover between now and then ...
