    Hornet Swarm Night City

Meeting place : Outside Auckland Public Library, Lorne Street, Auckland city
    Time : 6.30pm ... usually leaving around 7.00pm

Well, it seems this is the 2nd inaugural ride of the hornets causing a little stir in the city!

I nearly didn't make this ride and typical since TOTO and I pre-planned it all! Anyhows, I managed to quickly ride out to Mission Bay and caught up with the crew at St Heliers ...

Where a couple of the lads were draining the one-eyed trouser snake!

Anyhows, TOTO, badger, musicman and shingo were already dossed down shooting the breeze about bikes when I pulled up and did a u-turn. Some oohing and aahing over me Big Ol'Hornet Bling LEDs and the usual hi-jinks for camera shots and we were off again!

Pulled up at the Shell on Quay st for some gas-gas and off to the 2nd part of the Bay to Wharf ride.

I missed out on the St Heliers GP (done at a sedately pace of course), but did the ride over the bridge to Norf Masif. Did some twisties and went to see if the gates to the mount was opened (it wasn't). Minor incident and no biggy and off we rode to Devonport Wharf, scooted past the bollards and parked on the wharf where we shot the breeze. Badger had left us at St Heliers 'cause he been snorting no-doze and the lack of sleep was catching up with him

Was a fine night for a ride ... and you know me, any excuse for a ride!

    Talking

great night had the hornet swarm, and it attracted VTR bugs and Raptor bugs too, so pretty pleased

Buzzed around st heliers GP again , then turned back and off to devonport harbour to see the city from the other side. Looked pretty good

GiJoe amazed all the fishermen with his blingtastic Big Ol'Ornet and it attracted the fish too. everyone is happier with some hornets buzzing around...

    some picies ...

Looks like the camera man was on P or sumthin'! One of the shots looks like the Big Ol'Hornet is about to jump into the drink! All shaweet, but I couldn't believe the amount of rozzers that were out and about tonight!

I think you guys must have stirred them up or something!

gijoe's right Toto, some of those photos are shockers!

I felt kinda stink riding round some of the suburban areas making all that noise. I did my best to be quiet, but quiet is not in my bikes vocabulary.

If you guys head out west anywhere next week, you count on me being there

You pansies - call that a "night ride"? You're still in the city! There's enough lights for it to be classed "daytime"!

Need to get out of the city - I usually head up Kawakawa way after I finish the night shift - Twilight Rd is much better when well after twilight.

You should come join me on my late night pootles then! Heck not everybody is enthused doing hundreds of kays out in the middle of nowhere!

Do the Gisborne Gorge at night, that is a cracker of a ride!

But for everyone else, this night city riding is fine enuff for them ...

Sweet, change this Monday Night Ride to start at midnight-ish (y'know, nighttime) and we can do some of the real roads!

It's the biker gods way of keeping you on your toes! Hey didn't mention anything about noobness! Heck, we all know how quick it can go all pear-shaped

Did you buy two of them and keep one as a spare?

    SHAZAM!

A ninja tracks down the Hornets!
(Sorry for the awful night shots, it seems even with a decent camera I am awful at taking photos!)

    1. Crazy chinese man trying to commit suicide on the road it seems, far be it by me to stop him, extra bike for me!

    2. Choco's bike thought it would show up the bigger CC bikes with it's new 'Back to the Future' time travel and meet us at the bridge after getting a latte in 1940.
