this evening's 6-7 hour long pootle began with a humble trip to BK after a warm-up around St Heliers GP.
GIJoe and Banzai muttered something about picking up Daisy - a temperamental 2 stroke residing in GIJoe's garage - and so Gremlin, Andy (sp) and I just pootled along behind. GIJoe is likely to follow up this thread with photos (there were many) and a proper outline of the route; detours; adventures and so on.
I will only comment on three things (because apparently all good lawyers speak in threes):
1. you can never do the St Heliers GP too many times in one night.
2. "picking up a bike" means a six hour detour to seedy asian massage parlours, christmas themed surburban blocks and maraetai.
3. after "picking up the bike" the bike must properly be welcomed with a two hour ride to nowhere in particular.
many cheers to everyone who rode, and of course GIJoe for taking us. May the force of the hornet be with you (he is still out riding as I write!)

Well as I live and breathe, I actually made my pootle short! I just got back from a reduced trip from what I intended to do ... but I guess I just wanted to do a different route to what I did coming back to home!
Anyhows, rie has delved into most of the details, I will come back and embellish later.
Funny ... I filled up at Shell in Beach Rd. after the initial St Heliers GP and BK scoff-fest and have now done 200km in that period to now!Time to fill up again soon methinks!
Banzai was captive to me ... being pillioned around, I forgot he was there at times - it was only when I heard the "oooh", "whoooa", "eek!" I remembered not to do anything like pootle to Whangarei or summit like that!
Gremlin made a guest appearance at the meet point and HungusMaximus was there to shoot the breeze (he didn't ride with us though ... had coffee beans to grind)
andy_r also got into some Hornet Swarm action and it was great to see Hornets buzzing around in the city. There was the usual demented cagers and their erratic behaviour.
In St Heliers a blonde bint just sauntered through, I had already ascertained that she would be doing that and gave a right ol'blast on the horn. Really need to put the Stebel back on!![]()
At least I got to pull up next to her window and do the "tut tut" wave
I think I heard andy-r chortle loudly!
Anyway did a nice round and about way to my place, Banzai borrowed Daisy, rie tried to rear-end Daisy (ooer!) and Banzai then dropped Daisy in my driveway!
Poor poor Daisy
Right time to hit the hay, photos to be put up when I get around to it!

'Twas entertaining, thanks GiJoe, Rie, Gremlin & Banzai for the little cruise round St Heliers. Sorry I had to bail so early but had to be up at 0530 for work.I know I know excuses excuses

I'm posting my 1000th post here too!
Id like to borrow this post to wish all the riders came to Swarm to be safe and other KBers to join us sometime soon and non KBer riders to join KB and all ride safe and then cagers to not to drive in whole next year!
One thing to correct,
I only said "weeeeeeee" at the hairpin@domain twisties.
Oh and when I woke up I had headache and thirsty feeling just like next morning when I had alcohol
Mmmm riding hangover XD

I sat at home, playing host and dish washer to the hungry and opinionated people that turned up to tell me why biking is bad, why my choice in interior colour is bad, why I should have bought in town, rather than beachfront, why I can't clean/cook/think for myself... Also, why global warming is a myth, why my education is worthless... And it went downhill from there.
I was in my happy place, imagining swarming, soul floating free and disconnected...
I spent most of the night in the kitchen washing those dishes carefully and slowly - rather than explaining to the GF's dad why they were such assholes...

Holy crapola, you are in Dante's level of Hell, I think you are in the one where people who discuss the amount of sesame on their bagels, why wallpaper is passe compared to textured paint, where the best ROI occurs on fixed hedge investments and that sort of blahdom.
The prob MBB is you are basically a barefoot laidback SNAG trapped in the world of high-rollers who wank on about their pretensions of culture, wealth and breeding.
You unfortunately have a foot in both worlds betwixt biking (your true colours) and that of the thin veneer(should that be sneer?) of so called civilisation. I can imagine the scene now ... you are almost finished with the dishes ... and you can hear the conversation emanating from the portal of blahdom, you shudder. You then hurry up and redirty the dishes so you can once again slowly wash and dry them (even though you have a top of the range dishwasher) a cold wind blowing over your soul as your Scoot waits for you in the dark garage ...
I feel for ya man. That anome and disconnection is like a shriving bolt of doom into the pits of your soul. When the "life plan" that others want to map out for you is presented as a fate accompli.
Stay strong MBB, stay strong.![]()

Au contraie my little Korean Mafia Princess, we are filthy biker scum and never the twain shall meet!
Hornet riders are the nicest, most deranged bunch among that minority of people known as bikers. I think its that constant buzzing noise in their ears that causes them to be the way they are.
And being of a hive mind mentality, they seek other Hornets around and swarm invariably.
So sacre bleu, mon ami, I think when next we meet on another inaugural Hornet Swarm Night City ride, there shall be dollops of more crazy situations made more surreal by the fact you actually want to ride along with a Red Camo Ninja intent on finding even more ludicrous situations to happen on!
All I know is, there is bikes involved, riding involved, ice cream involved ... and then the usual degeneration of postings on KB!
jal-da nyeo-o sip si-o!

I am happy with the honorific "Filthy Biker Scum". But what can be wrong with walls that are white. Which btw, was my third choice, but apparently having a small shack and darker interior colours = even smaller shack...
I was thinking of asking for help to carry the couches out so I can park two bikes in the lounge. I think a candy apple CBX and a shiny Scoot would look great parked on the polished rimu floors. And it would make far less comfortable seating for my "guests"...
