Can they fix it? NO THEY CAN'T

I bought my zxr back in june and it was running sweet for like less than a month then she starts running a wee bit hot, and get worse and worse. eventually she boiled out all the water in the system. So I take it into bike shop to get a "service" saying it is hard to start and it overheating.

They give it a service, oil, filter crap like that sweet, they also made it start and run real nice...but only til I ride it. It still overheats. Also back from a ride I notice a Farkn oil leak they caused...

So Im $500 down and not fixed, so I take it somewhere else to get fixed. Radiator comes off, aparently 20% blocked and they flushed it and put it back together. sweet I take it for a ride and it Farkn overheats again!!!!

$500 more and I still cant ride my bike....

Now they say its a blown head gasket and over a grand to fix. Its a bike worth 3k and I have already spent a grand fixing it is it really worth another grand to fix it to what it was before?

Im thinkin to cut my losses and trade it in on a new bike when I get a bit more coin. Hopefully I could make 3k back on it?

Sorry for the long post but I just want to go for a ride and i cant im so ANGRY

    This doesn't sound like fun.

Overheating + Head gasket = Warped head.

Can't you find a shop that will give you a guarantee to fix the problem and then not charge you for the re-fix?

The problem with changing garages is that they have no historical experience and will always rubbish the opposition to justify their charges.

My advice is to go for the fix option with the better of the previous garages that you have already used; provided it is actually fixable.

    Godd luck.

They took 5 weeks to give it the service which they fucked up in the first place. Completely incompetant. They are a registered kawasaki dealer so thats y i went there, took me a shitload of hassle to get it in there as its 45 min away. So went for a closer garage

Before you get a new head gasket fitted check to see if the radiator header tank pipe which runs from the radiator to the tank is clear. Had a blockage on one bike that had the same symptoms and this tube was well and truely crudded up.

Any evidence of water in the sump?

    'Rip you off'?

    Bullshit.

Workshops only do what you ask them to. They don't employ psychics.

Don't blame the mechanics for the fact that you bought a well-thrashed twenty year old piece of crap.

You're going to fit in here poorly if you disrespect people, noob.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
