KYMCO VENOX coming to NZ & AU

I looked and did not see this posted so here is what the PIWYR.com forum just heard.

We sent an email a couple days ago to BUG SCOOTERS concerning if/when the Venox would be imported to NZ & AU.

We got back this email today:

Hi there,

Thank you very much for you email enquiry.

It’s great to know that people out there are already after our great new Motorbike the Kymco Venox.

We will have some units available in New Zealand just as soon as the Australia Compliance have been completed.
Saying this, the Venox may be available in New Zealand as soon as next month!!

Not sure what ''real bike'' you ''ride'' but have found its always one of two things when a post like above is made.

1. complete ignorance about a product (and what it means to be a biker in general)
2. nothing but a ''fair weather rider''

I have owned and been riding ''real bikes'' (name it I've had it) over 1/2 million miles for 40 years in all conditions and now have 2 venoxes (now have 5 total ''real and 'non-real' bikes'') and have not had another ''real bike'' in all that time be as trouble free as the Venox (NEVER been in the shop), which the informed know is just an upgraded Honda VT250C (who also do not make ''real bikes'').Have now over 75,000 km on the two venoxes with out a ''oil leak 2003''.

Here is just one of the venoxes that I have PRIDE to be seen on by any biker.

Hey folks. Thought you might be interested to know I have a 2007 Kymco Venox 250. Christchurch city scooters have been importing these bikes into New Zealand for a while now. Sure, it may not be as good a build quality as your average Japanese bike but, its mecahnically, a very sound machine and just perfect for seeing you through to your full licence, especially if you aren't comfortable with the small size of most 250's. The only draw back of the Venox in NZ is the resale value ...... not sure if I will get much for my used one.

Sure, it may not be as good a build quality as your average Japanese bike ...

The build quality IS as good as any Jap bike as it uses most of the same componets as the Honda VT250C. The only different parts are new better looking body panels, a larger gas tank and a new exclusive modern engine.Kymco for 40 years was controled by Honda and was the major parts supplier for them.

We also just found out where you got your bike, we just got this email from where you bought it.

This was in responce to the original email we sent Bug Scooters.

We have received an email from Bug Australia regarding the Venox. We had been selling them for a year and a half and had sold 5. Last time we went to get one Vinned 4 months ago, at VINZ they put a stop on them say ing the paper work wasn't correct and they needed EEC plates or ADR plates on. Beuraqracey gone mad. Very annoyed to say the least as we have already got 5 on the road and we met all their requirements they originally asked for. We have 2 black ones sitting in stock and one in our rental fleet. We cannot sell them at the moment but are trying to get it sorted. We are waiting on the ADR to come through and then we can get them on the road again.

Everyone that has one really enjoys them and the fact that they look bigger than they are. The lines flow alot nicer than the Magna and they are proving to be very reliable. I had a look on Kiwi biker but couldnt find the thread to the Venox. Would you mind if you could send it through please.

Contrary to popular belief posting something someone doesn't agree with isn't actually criminal - although Stevie some of your advise should be. (and will be when I become PM).

As for comments like domestic violence - please - There are people in the real world that suffering from that that deserve sympathy and support - you get shit on a Internet forum generally in reply for you typing something rather idiotic - Try to keep it in perspective.

Obxbiker - Welcome to the forum. I guess that the Venox info you posted simply got lumped in with all the 'other' cheap Chinese crap that comes in.

They arnt my 'style', but they do sound (from what you are saying) somewhat head and shoulders above that.

There is a real lack of a nice reasonable sized cruiser of good quality in the learner bracket - here is hoping that the Venox lives up to the possibility of filling that gap!

VENOXs are made in my country Taiwan, I haven't seen one or ridden one yet. It is a good bike for learner,actually.

Yep, Its an excellent bike for learning on. When I first got my learner licence I tried a few 250's finally settling on the Suzuki VL 250 but, oh my god that narrow front wheel didn't do much for my confidence in the wind and on the motorway. Saw the Venox and thought.... "thats the one" promptly sold the Intruder and feel much more confident on the Venox. It has a very solid feel, doesnt get buffeted around so much in the wind which is important for those of us who have to use our bikes everyday for commuting. Oh yeah..... and it looks like the BOMB !!! and makes a hell of a noise. I read one review of the bike who's author described at as the little "Buzzbomber"

Yes it is an excellent bike to learn on.
But what we have found the last 4 years is just as many 'old time' riders end up with it too.

Most 'old time' riders get one because of the unique look (NO one knows what it is), the great performance for its class and the dependability.

Unlike the young punks, who do not know what they are talking about, many 'old time' riders do not buy a bike with large cc's just to compensate for a small XXXX. They buy a bike for the lifestyle.
