    Sneaky speed bumps

I was crusing around wellington airport late at night, i don't know the name of the road but its the one with massy memorial, when all of a sudden i came around the corner just to see a square speed bump infront of me.
At this time i was doing aroung 60-70k's, with no time to break the only thing i could do is stand on my pegs to help absorb the impact, i hit it so hard that my forks bottomed out and i nearly did a superman, scared me a bit.
But the thing that pissed me off is there were no warnings of speed bumps, very sneaky! and i got cought out, thankfully with no damage to myself and my bike.

So wellington riders look out for strange square speed bumps!

Ah. Shelley Bay. Bumps through the Naval Base. They are signposted.

    Sweet road though.

There is, I think they use it as a film set or something similar now.

Had a similar thing happen to me a while ago up around the East Cape. Heaps of 'uneven surface' signs north of Ruatoria but the bumps/humps whatever were not that bad. I slowed for all of them cos ya never know eh? But at point I thought fuck it, and didn't cut off any speed, until I saw the dip
Tried to knock off as much speed as I could cos I could see that the road droped away about 300mm Mrs pillion got some air im sure.

From memory (long time ago) theres a monument thingy down the road a bit.For my money a shite road considering the traffic, state of up keep on said road, used to live up there way back and attempted madness on that road a few times but gave up due to the endless dawdlers enjoying the scenic drive.(as they had every right to do).Looking back i can honestly say the only thing i remember with fondness about Wellington is the Rimatuka (spell) hill, rest of it was a shithole.
