Awesome post and bling duly awarded
BUT:
The Cravers might be a new breed but I can assure you they enjoy motorcycling as much as you I and expoound their love of bikes in a much different way.
They tend to be offhand, almost mocking but they are just taking the piss and when one of their own machines finally coughs and dies or meets an early end they are just as upset as you or I. The last thing they really want to see is one of their mates sliding down the ride wearing away muscle and bone.
I like them. I've seen the exuberance of the younger "y" generation and I honestly have a good laugh at their videos.
I enjoy banter with them, I like riding with them the odd time I have and they make life fun which I really think, it's meant to be.
Theres too many heartaches and things that go wrong in life not to have a good laugh when someone is really just taking the piss.
In fact, when you get to know them, most people have some redeeming feature or something about them that you can like.
I think we need to focus on the positive. Too many young people are around for too short a time and I think we need to make these ones feel appreciated.
Life? I love it![]()

It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
No they are not a new Breed, they have always been there 25 yrs ago I had friends who would do much simmilar things to young Carver, keep in mind they were doing it on bikes built and desighned in the 1970s and early 80s, hardly any where near the technology available today, and keep in mind that most roads have varstly improved in the last 25 yrs.
I had 10 friends and aquaintences killed in various road accidents when I was in my late teens early 20s, how I didn't join them I'm not sure.
Carver in 25 to 30yrs time when he has teen age kids heading out onto the road on their bikes, knowing full well what they can get up to, and how unforgiving the black serpent can be when it claims its victims.
why do all of you claim to care so much?
you dont even know me...
by half of your responses, you wouldn't shed a tear anyways.
get over yourselves
But we do, you are as much a part of the Kiwi Biker community as any one else here, We look after our own. my best example and the one that started this thread, is look how the KB community rallied to the aid of Nasty at the tragic loss of Grub, we can't do much for Grub, but it is because we care we support Nasty through her pain. keep in mind that most in KB don't know Nasty or Grub very well, but we Care what happens to our fellow members.
Had a great ride today myself. Just to Mokau and back. Not a fast ride, or a very slow one, just a nice pace. Felt at one with the world.... apart from trying to "run in" my new leather jacket and pants that I've had for a while, but haven't worn. Bit uncomfy!
Days like today are what motorcycling is all about
Edit: Lots of courteous drivers on the road today, too. Did heaps of "thank you" waves to cars that pulled over to make passing easier
