    Katherine Prumm suffers back injury

    Bummer!! From racerxonline.com.

    Katherine Prumm Suffers Back Injury

    Nov 15 2008 1:27PM

Double Women’s World Cup winner Katherine Prumm will undergo surgery in the coming days after a practice crash in her native New Zealand left the 20 year old with several broken vertebrae.

The YZ250F rider, who led the 2008 FIM Women’s World Championship before her season was curtailed by a broken collarbone, over-jumped a triple step-down and in the ensuing tumble caused damage to her spine with the T6, T9 and T12 most affected.

Prumm who was training in preparation for attempts at the 2009 title as well as national success both in New Zealand and Australia was naturally shell-shocked with the injury set-back. Until the exact date and nature of surgery is known the duration and form of rehabilitation is difficult to determine.

A further update will be issued next week.

    Katherine Prumm seriously injured?

A late report on TV One news tonight (Mon 17th) suggests Katherine Prumm has been seriously injured in a training accident and is in North Shore Hospital.

Hope this is not the case, she is a very talented motocrosser.

EDIT: Just found this link http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/4763556a13275.html is probably already on KB somewhere. If so, grateful if a mod can merge or delete this one.

there was an interview on the news just now
she was walking unaided, which seems impressive considering
although she is wearing a big brace around her torso
she seems in very good spirits
just thought id put this up here
we may just go where no ones been

she wasnt, there was an article about her and her crash on last night, it had her mother talking about it and Ethan Martens about being there when it happened
but she was to "groggy" to talk to them

    Wishing her all the best!

She now has 3 vertabrais that are fused to others. Not sure if they will de-fuse them sometime in the future when they have healed. If not, then her mobility/flexibility will be very limited.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

I seen there was an article in the Herald today about it too.
Hope she recovers to be able to race again.
    All the best katherine.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
And now a third thing a bloody big gun to shoot theives with!
